The two Pokémon crashed to the ground, the tremendous impact gouging a crater in the earth.

Since Seviper had been wrapped around Monferno, she took the brunt of the damage.

The impact loosened Seviper's stranglehold on Monferno a little. Seizing the chance, Monferno immediately leaped free, turned, and blasted a scorching Flamethrower straight at the snake's head!

"Hiss!"

Seviper hissed in agony amid the sea of flames. A dagger-like tail gleaming with poisonous light shot out of the fire, thrusting straight toward Monferno's heart!

"Ralts!"

At that critical moment, Ralts suddenly darted in front of Monferno!

Her hair flew as Confusion surged!

She held her hands loosely together, generating powerful Confusion between them that clung like glue to the razor-sharp tail!

But just how much force was behind Seviper's tail?

What was more, this was her desperate strike. How could little Ralts possibly withstand it?

It all happened in a flash. Poison Tail drove Ralts rapidly backward. Although she was already doing everything she could to resist, the gap in their strength was like heaven and earth!

Bang!

Ralts's back slammed into Monferno's chest. The violent collision cut Monferno's flames short, and both Pokémon tumbled away. Fortunately, they had successfully stopped Poison Tail.

The flames dispersed. Charred black all over and giving off the aroma of roasted meat, Seviper rolled ceaselessly on the ground, her massive body lashing the earth like a whip!

Dirt flew and stones shattered. Countless flowers, plants, and trees were destroyed by Seviper's dying struggles.

"Ralts!"

Ralts stood up, Psychic-type energy surging all around her. The life-and-death battle had given her a sudden insight, taking her straight to level 17!

Monferno pulled Ralts back. Seviper was clearly done for now, so there was no need to go up and waste any more energy.
