Chapter Summaries

Ho-Oh arrived to help the Pokémon League confront Ye Qing, and its aura pressured him as the crowd expected him to submit. Ye Qing defiantly claimed he had once caught Ho-Oh with an ordinary Poké Ball, leaving Ho-Oh and everyone else stunned.

• Ho-Oh descended in a blaze of fire, and Cynthia and the crowd bowed respectfully as the Pokémon League prepared to arrest Ye Qing and Wang Yao.
• Ye Qing worried that Mewtwo had not arrived, while Mew and Infernape faced Ho-Oh’s overwhelming presence.
• Ho-Oh pressed Ye Qing with its aura, and Mew grew angry as Ye Qing stood firm under the pressure.
• Ye Qing shouted that Ho-Oh was a Shiny Fearow and claimed he had caught it with a Poké Ball, shocking the crowd and his family.

Mega Mewtwo X arrived to protect Ye Qing, overwhelmed the Pokémon League and Ho-Oh, then asked Ye Qing which side Suicune was on. Ye Qing pointed to Ho-Oh, and Mega Mewtwo X immediately struck Suicune and sent it flying into the distance.

• Ho-Oh’s Sacred Fire rushed toward Ye Qing, but Mega Mewtwo X burst through space and kicked it back into Ho-Oh.
• Mega Mewtwo X unleashed a terrifying aura that incapacitated many people and Pokémon, leaving Ho-Oh and the others unable to move.

The next morning, he flew toward the Imperial Capital, planning to replace his Poké Balls with Black Balls and later get Garchomp a Mega Stone accessory.

Ye Qing left to investigate the GS Ball’s origins and called Su Yiqin to ask for a meeting.

• Old Master Zhang recounted how a wish-granting Pokémon and green Pokémon appeared during a village fire, though the story’s ending had been lost.

• Mewtwo asked Ye Qing to find Legendary Pokémon that could take a beating, then warned him to keep his head down for a while.
• Ye Qing met Su Yiqin and asked her to investigate the ship tied to the GS Ball and take him to its wreck.

Ye Qing and Su Yiqin traveled to a sheltered harbor with Uncle Hu to search for a shipwreck, preparing to dive with Water-type Pokémon. As storm clouds gathered, Uncle Hu stopped them before they reached the site.

• Old Master Luo recognized that the Pokémon League would likely protect Ye Qing, while Luo Tiangang and the Ghost-type Elite Four watched and Team R's order to eliminate Ye Qing remained in force.

• Uncle Hu led Ye Qing and Su Yiqin underwater inside bubbles made by their Primarina, with Milotic staying beside Ye Qing.

Ye Qing, Su Yiqin, and Uncle Hu continued exploring the shipwreck despite the danger and defeated the two Dhelmise guarding it. With the nearby wild Pokémon driven off, Ye Qing asked Uncle Hu where the GS Ball had been found.

• Milotic and Uncle Hu's Primarina repelled the anchors, and Uncle Hu warned that stronger wild Pokémon might guard the shipwreck.
• Ye Qing decided to continue exploring, and Uncle Hu led him and Su Yiqin across the seabed toward the wreck.
• The group found the century-old shipwreck and two Dhelmise clinging to its hull.
• Ye Qing sent Milotic after one Dhelmise while Uncle Hu and Su Yiqin fought the other; Milotic defeated hers with Hypnosis and Ice Beam.
• The group drove away the remaining wild Pokémon, and Ye Qing showed Uncle Hu the GS Ball and asked where it had been found.

Ye Qing searched a sunken ship with Gardevoir and found a mysterious Hide Scroll, then Mew suddenly teleported him home. There he discovered an unconscious Celebi and began examining the scroll’s painting, wondering whether Celebi had traveled from another time and space.

• Ye Qing and Gardevoir searched the wreck’s passenger cabins and found a Hide Scroll in a battered backpack.
• Mew appeared above the sea and teleported Su Yiqin and Uncle Hu to the docks in Alto Mare, while taking Ye Qing home.
• Ye Qing found an unconscious, weakened Celebi in his courtyard and carried it to his room.
• Psyduck ignored Ye Qing’s questions and strode into the living room, leaving Ye Qing puzzled about Celebi’s sudden arrival.

Ye Qing suspected that Celebi had brought him a thousand years into the past and prepared for the journey while Celebi recovered. When Celebi woke and asked for help saving its clan, Ye Qing agreed, but learned Celebi might not have the energy to bring Legendary or Mythical Pokémon along.

Ye Qing agreed to travel to the past with Celebi to rescue its group and gathered supplies for the journey. He selected five Pokémon to accompany him, and Celebi opened a rift in spacetime as they prepared to leave.

• Celebi revealed its desperate hope of rescuing its group from bandits, and Ye Qing agreed to go after making preparations.

Ye Qing and Celebi traveled through time to a dangerous primeval forest, where Celebi passed out and Ye Qing encountered an ancient Manectric and a group of villagers. After the villagers tried to ambush him, Ye Qing’s Pokémon subdued them, and he began questioning them about where he had arrived.

• Celebi brought Ye Qing through a time tunnel, but arrived separately and fainted from exhaustion.
• Gardevoir detected a Manectric’s ambush and held it with Confusion until Infernape knocked it out with Focus Punch.
• Ye Qing flew above the forest, followed a river, and found three men walking along a rough road with Grass-type Pokémon.
• Ye Qing pretended to be lost, but Gardevoir sensed the men’s hostile intent and sent them flying.
• Gengar knocked out the men’s Nuzleaf, and Gardevoir restrained the men while Ye Qing demanded honest answers.

Ye Qing interrogated and killed three bandits, then traveled through the mountains looking for the village chief, Master Wang, who made Berry Balls. He reached the village and claimed to be Master Wang’s disciple so the guards would let him in.

• Ye Qing used Gardevoir to expose the bandits’ lies, and Gengar killed them after learning there was a nearby village whose chief was named Wang.
• Ye Qing and his Pokémon Teleported toward the village, fought off attacking Ekans, and followed Garchomp’s tracking to a guarded mountain path.
• Ye Qing told the guards he was Master Wang’s disciple, and they let him enter the village.
