"The Wilderness lies at the westernmost edge of the Shangqing Realm. It is the place with the greatest uncertainty in that great karmic calamity of Buddhism. For Buddhism Disciples to enter it without permission would be to seek their own deaths."
"As for cultivators from the Daoist sects, the Confucian Sect, and the others, the things in the ruins of the Thousand Buddha Kingdom are of no use whatsoever to them. Thus, no one is willing to risk their lives exploring it."
"So, for all these reasons, even now, only the Five Elders and we inheritors of the Taixuan Sect know anything of this secret."
At this point, Lü Daoxuan paused before continuing:
"The most important reason the Five Elders made inviting a Buddha from Vulture Peak one of their most crucial plans was that they discovered a Buddhist scripture in the Thousand Buddha Kingdom called the Kṣitigarbha Sutra, whose Buddhist Dharma happened to counter the Ghost Corpse scourge."
"If we obtain this method, the Azure Profound Sect's chances of victory in the approaching Ghost Corpse scourge will increase by at least thirty percent."
Hearing this, Xu Taiping's eyes immediately lit up as he said:
"A thirty-percent chance of victory is no small thing."
