Tony's Approval
"Hey, Luo Wen, seeing as you provided me with Kroll Alloy, I'll show you my latest model of armor!"
At Tony's private Coastal Villa, the moment Luo Wen stepped inside, Tony eagerly and smugly led him to the basement workshop.
Luo Wen raised an eyebrow.
In the movies, Tony's workshop was only accessible to Rhodey and Pepper Potts. Even Obadiah had to stop at the door.
He hadn't expected Tony to let someone he'd only met twice enter.
"Aren't you afraid I'll steal your ideas?"
Hearing Luo Wen's words, Tony shot him a sidelong glance.
"You've got Kroll Alloy. Why would you need to steal my ideas?"
In Tony's eyes, Luo Wen was already a bona fide billionaire. Before long, he would be able to build a conglomerate rivaling Stark Industries, perhaps even forge a materials empire.
"I really don't need to wrap myself in a layer of iron."
Luo Wen shrugged.
Even a General-Level Warrior could tear Iron Man apart with their bare hands, let alone a War God-Level Warrior.
And a War God-Level Warrior was merely at the Apprentice Tier.
"Tch."
Tony couldn't be bothered with Luo Wen. Covering the keypad, he entered the basement password.
Beep.
The glass door opened, and Tony led Luo Wen downstairs.
"Ta-da!"
Tony strode to an object covered by a black cloth and spread his arms.
"You should feel honored. You're the first person to see it!"
With that, Tony yanked away the black cloth.
A gold-and-red Iron Man Armor was immediately revealed before Luo Wen.
He had to admit, it looked pretty cool.
Moreover, Luo Wen noticed that aside from the gold and red, certain details of the armor were accented with a distinctive blue-black color.
Luo Wen's eyesight was excellent, and he realized it wasn't paint, but the natural color of Kroll Alloy.
Wanting to show off in front of Luo Wen, Tony slapped the armor.
"Jarvis, suit me up!"
"Okay, sir." Jarvis's polite male voice sounded through the room.
The back of the Iron Man Armor immediately unfolded. Tony stepped inside and began putting on the armor.
Meanwhile, Luo Wen watched the blue holographic screen floating in the air some distance away with great interest.
Artificial intelligence was a good thing.
To Luo Wen, Jarvis was probably even more appealing than the Iron Man Armor.
Tony's armor was practically useless to a warrior.
Its only useful feature was flight.
Artificial intelligence like Jarvis, on the other hand, was extremely valuable to Luo Wen.
The current Jarvis could only be considered a low-level artificial intelligence. It couldn't compare to an intelligent lifeform like Babata.
Even so, it was extraordinarily valuable.
At the very least, no low-level artificial intelligence similar to Jarvis had been invented on the Swallowed Star Earth.
The intelligence of something like a Smart Fighter could only be considered an intelligent system. It didn't possess human thought processes or logic.
And the artificial intelligence aboard Hong's spaceship wasn't a product of Earth's technology either.
Therefore, an artificial intelligence like Jarvis was worth a great deal.
"If I could sell the method for creating low-level artificial intelligence like Jarvis to Limit Martial Hall..."
Luo Wen stroked his chin, his gaze at the holographic screen growing brighter and brighter.
Clank, clank, clank!
Just as Luo Wen was setting his sights on Jarvis, Tony had already put on the Iron Man Armor and walked up to him with heavy, mechanical footsteps.
The armor's faceplate automatically opened, revealing Tony's smug face.
"Well? Isn't it handsome?"
Tony struck a pose before Luo Wen and grinned crookedly.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I'm not a Playboy cover girl, so please stop trying to look cool in front of me, okay?"
Luo Wen was somewhat speechless. Tony had yet to go through all the growth that would come later; he was as flashy as a male dog in heat.
"Heh, you're no fun at all." Seeing that Luo Wen had not shown the slightest surprise, Tony immediately lost interest. He grabbed a glass and took a gulp of water before saying irritably, "Aren't you going to ask how fast this armor can fly? How many tons of impact it can withstand? I'm currently the world's best spokesperson for Kroll Alloy."
"I did come to you because of Kroll Alloy, but that's not all."
Luo Wen glanced at the glowing reactor in Tony's chest.
"Hm? What do you mean?" Tony asked, confused.
"I've been working on a new project recently, but it consumes too much power. I need a mobile, portable energy source, and your Arc Reactor happens to be perfect."
Luo Wen spread his hands.
"You don't plan on copying my armor too, do you?" Tony eyed him suspiciously.
"Don't worry, it definitely won't be used for armor, nor will it be used for destructive weapons."
Luo Wen assured him.
He did not explain anything more.
It would be best if Tony was willing to help. If not, he could always spend the money and go to Moscow to find Ivan Vanko.
Tony looked at Luo Wen's open expression and felt that he had probably been overthinking it.
This guy already had Kroll Alloy. He would soon become a billionaire, with more money than he could spend in several lifetimes. There was no need for him to waste effort researching armor.
"Fine, I'll give you an Arc Reactor." Tony agreed readily.
"But you have to give me something in return, right?" Tony suddenly added with a sly grin.
Most of the outer shell of his current armor was made from Kroll Alloy, multiplying its defensive capabilities several times over.
Since Luo Wen said there was even higher-grade Kroll Alloy, Tony naturally wanted to raise his armor's defenses even further.
"I'll give you fifty kilograms of Level 3 Kroll Alloy, then another ten kilograms of Level 4 Kroll Alloy after a while. How does that sound?"
Since Tony had been straightforward, Luo Wen was not stingy either.
The Arc Reactor could solve his urgent problem, and he did not mind giving Tony's Iron Man Armor a major upgrade.
"You really do have higher-grade Kroll Alloy?"
Tony looked stunned, both delighted and conflicted.
"Of course. I don't like lying." Luo Wen smiled.
After finishing their discussion, Luo Wen did not rush to leave. He toured Tony's workshop while chatting with him.
"I'm planning to register a company in the next couple of days and recruit some people to set up its basic structure. Then I'll need to expand our sales channels. Mr. Tony Stark, shouldn't you properly fulfill your duty as Kroll Alloy's global spokesperson?"
"..."
Tony was speechless. When had he ever agreed to become Kroll Alloy's global spokesperson?
This kid really had some nerve.
His first instinct was to snap back, but when he remembered that Luo Wen had just promised him a batch of Kroll Alloy, he swallowed the words.
Seeing that Tony remained silent, Luo Wen did not feel the slightest bit embarrassed and continued, "Don't you attend parties all the time? Your armor's defense has increased dramatically. Showing off in front of me is pointless—you should go show off at parties. For example, put on a performance where you take a cannon shell head-on with a body of steel."
Luo Wen's words made Tony's eyes light up.
That was right. How cool would it be to attend a party wearing the Iron Man Armor?
And then demonstrate taking a cannon shell head-on...
What kind of reaction would the girls there have?
Tony was immediately tempted.
