Taking Sharon Home for Dinner
"Besides the artificial intelligence, Tony's Iron Man Armor flight system is pretty good too."
Luo Wen stroked his chin.
The Iron Man Armor was a bit expensive to produce. It probably would not have much of a market in the world of Swallowed Star.
But Martial Artists below the Planetary Level could not fly.
If Martial Artist armor could be equipped with flight capabilities, their combat power and mobility would surely rise to another level.
At the very least, their survival rate would increase by thirty percent.
Martial Artists were all very rich.
They definitely would not be stingy.
"Great. Next, I'll sell artificial intelligence and flight systems!"
Luo Wen slapped his fist into his palm.
"But I can't rush it. I'll have to wait until I become a Martial Artist before taking action, or I might lose my life."
Luo Wen smiled to himself.
In truth, becoming a Martial Artist would not make him all that safe either.
Although the Security Bureau protected Martial Artists' rights, wealth tempted people's hearts. With such enormous profits at stake, the country might very well be the first to swallow him whole.
After becoming a Martial Artist, Luo Wen planned to align himself with Limit Martial Hall.
Hong's character was trustworthy. Sharing the technology with Limit Martial Hall and splitting the profits fifty-fifty would be the best choice.
Maybe he could even get a vial of Dragon Blood from Hong.
After jotting down this money-making idea, Luo Wen continued practicing the Basic Ten Forms.
Originally, he had planned to visit Limit Martial Hall once every three days and seek guidance from Instructor Wu.
But now that he had Friday, he might as well wait a while before going.
The morning passed quickly.
Luo Wen soaked in the bathtub, utterly exhausted.
The bathwater was a dark purple.
Today's medicinal bath mainly strengthened his physique, and its effects were far more intense than last time.
Luo Wen could feel a slight prickling pain in his skin.
After the medicinal bath, he felt that prickling spread through his pores to every muscle in his body, even his bones.
The pain was not very noticeable, like mosquito bites.
Luo Wen simply went to bed.
The pain was not enough to keep him from falling asleep.
The sky gradually changed, slowly darkening.
When Luo Wen woke again, he found that the pain in his body had disappeared.
It had been replaced by overflowing strength.
It felt as though he had endless power throughout his body.
Excitement appeared on Luo Wen's face.
He did not even need to test himself to know that his physical fitness had improved significantly.
"I'll go to the martial hall for a test this weekend and see if I can reach the Advanced Student level."
Luo Wen smiled to himself.
Glancing at the sky, Luo Wen got dressed, left the apartment, and headed to the warehouse.
A batch of Kroll Alloy had already been delivered to the warehouse.
He had ordered it from the HR Alliance supervisor yesterday.
Luo Wen planned to take this batch of Kroll Alloy back with him.
Kroll Industries' first exhibition would depend on it.
Luo Wen snapped his fingers, and a blue-black vortex appeared, swallowing both him and the Kroll Alloy.
The next second, Luo Wen and the Kroll Alloy appeared in the warehouse.
Luo Wen lowered his head and glanced at the ring.
To his surprise, six gems were still lit.
"In other words, this return trip didn't consume any additional energy."
Luo Wen looked at the Kroll Alloy beside him.
This batch contained 1,000 kilograms of Level 2 Kroll Alloy and 200 kilograms of Level 3 Kroll Alloy.
The area it covered was not particularly large.
"Could it be that if the Spacetime Vortex opened smaller, it wouldn't consume as much energy from the ring?"
Luo Wen guessed.
Last time, it was probably because he had brought too much rice, so it had consumed the energy of two gems at once.
"That's good news."
Luo Wen smiled, planning to test it a few more times in the future.
Checking the time, he saw that Hill was about to get off work, so Luo Wen drove back to S.H.I.E.L.D.
But just as he arrived downstairs at S.H.I.E.L.D., Luo Wen received a text from Hill.
"Make a few extra dishes tonight. I'm bringing Sharon home for dinner."
"..."
After reading the message, Luo Wen's mouth twitched.
Hill's efficiency was really high.
What could he do? His big sister had spoken, so he could only comply.
So Luo Wen turned the car around and headed to the nearest supermarket, buying a basketful of ingredients.
After returning to the apartment, Luo Wen sorted, picked through, and washed the ingredients. In less than an hour, he had made four dishes.
Just as he stood in the kitchen wearing an apron and making soup with the leftover celery leaves, sounds came from the door.
Luo Wen poked his head out of the kitchen and saw Hill leading Sharon inside.
"Luo Wen, I'm back! This is Sharon."
Hill smiled brightly when she saw Luo Wen.
"Hello, I'm Sharon."
Sharon, standing behind Hill, greeted Luo Wen somewhat nervously.
"Hello, I'm Luo Wen. Welcome to our home for dinner."
Holding a spatula, Luo Wen greeted her politely and naturally.
Seeing Luo Wen's apron and spatula, Sharon let out a laugh, instantly feeling much less nervous.
Whenever she saw Luo Wen before, he always seemed aloof and cool. She had never expected him to be like this at home.
"Ha ha, Sharon, isn't Luo Wen funny when he wears an apron?"
Hill teased as she changed her shoes.
Sharon pressed her lips together in a smile, her eyes brimming with amusement. "Yes."
Luo Wen rolled his eyes at Hill. "You two chat first. I just need to finish one more soup."
Luo Wen closed the kitchen's glass door and continued cooking.
At that moment, Sharon sniffed the air and revealed a surprised expression. "It smells so good!"
"Right? My little brother's cooking is delicious. You'll find out soon enough."
Hill handed Sharon a pair of slippers.
"Okay!"
Sharon was full of anticipation.
Before long, Luo Wen came out carrying a bowl of celery and egg-drop soup.
He found Hill and Sharon sitting on the sofa, watching TV and chatting with smiles on their faces.
"Have you washed your hands? Come eat!"
At Luo Wen's call, Hill and Sharon immediately came over and sat at the dining table.
"Sharon, hurry and try Luo Wen's cooking."
Hill handed Sharon a pair of chopsticks.
"Sharon, do you know how to use them?"
Luo Wen looked at Sharon and asked.
Most Westerners rarely used chopsticks.
"I do."
Sharon smiled softly and nodded, holding the chopsticks in a fairly standard grip.
Hill said with a mischievous smile, "Of course she does. Maybe she's been practicing at home for ages."
Sharon immediately blushed.
Ever since she had heard Hill say that Luo Wen ate Chinese food at home, she had been practicing how to use chopsticks and learning how to make Chinese dishes.
Although her Chinese cooking was rather ordinary, she could already use chopsticks normally.
Luo Wen pretended not to understand Hill's teasing, nodded, and placed a piece of braised pork rib in Sharon's bowl.
Sharon picked up her chopsticks and took a bite, her eyes widening at once.
Then, before she even had time to praise it, her little mouth kept chewing and savoring, her face full of astonishment.
"So good!"
Reluctantly swallowing the meat from the rib, Sharon immediately couldn't help exclaiming in admiration.
Hill smiled. "If it's good, eat more."
Then she placed another piece of beef brisket in Sharon's bowl.
Sharon took a bite, and this time she stopped talking altogether, transforming into a true eating machine.
Hill was hungry too, and her table manners were no better than Sharon's.
Still, she found time to tease Sharon, making the young girl blush bright red.
Luo Wen, on the other hand, was thick-skinned. He pretended not to understand what Hill was saying the entire time, occasionally placing a couple pieces of meat in Sharon's bowl.
By the end of the meal, every dish on the table had been cleared.
Although Luo Wen ate unhurriedly, he ate quite a lot as well.
His appetite was huge now—roughly twice what it had been before.
