Fury's Shock

"Captain Rogers, please calm down. We mean you no harm."

Fury looked at Captain America, who was being held at gunpoint, and spoke calmly.

"Then why were you broadcasting fake news over the radio to mislead me, and why are you pointing guns at me?"

Captain America's eyes were filled with hostility.

Fury was somewhat helpless. He had not expected Captain America to be so vigilant, nor to act so decisively.

"Captain, we were mainly worried that you wouldn't be able to adjust right after waking up. We originally planned to explain things to you gradually. Who knew it would turn out like this?"

"Adjust to what?"

Captain America immediately caught the key point in Fury's words.

Fury paused, his tone somewhat grave. "Adjust to the changes of the times."

"Captain, you slept beneath the ice for seventy years."

"How is that possible?"

An expression of disbelief appeared on Captain America's face.

"Nothing is impossible." Fury shook his head and looked at the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents around them. "Lower your weapons."

The agents hesitated for a moment before lowering their guns.

The hostility in Captain America's eyes lessened somewhat.

"If you don't believe me, come with me."

Fury headed straight for the S.H.I.E.L.D. entrance.

Captain America frowned and followed him.

The other agents also followed along to watch.

Luo Wen led Sharon out with the crowd as well.

His car was parked right outside anyway, and watching the spectacle was pretty interesting.

The moment he stepped outside, Captain America froze.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

A taxi sped past.

Towering buildings surrounded them, along with brightly colored billboards.

At an intersection not far away, enormous LCD screens played advertisements.

The overwhelming visual impact left him dazed.

Without a doubt, this was not a street scene from 1945.

Captain America stood blankly at the entrance, unable to accept it for a moment.

"Captain, it's 2008 now," Fury said quietly.

"Is that so..." Captain America fell silent, his shock tinged with sorrow.

After a long while, he finally said wistfully, "Looks like I missed a date."

By now, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents had more or less figured out what was going on. They silently formed a circle around him, watching this legend.

Luo Wen grinned and looked down at Sharon beside him. "The show's over. Let's go, or we'll be late."

With that, Luo Wen led Sharon toward his car.

Captain America noticed Luo Wen.

"Who is he?"

Captain America looked at Fury.

"Luo Wen. The younger brother of one of our agents," Fury replied after thinking for a moment.

"Were you holding back earlier because you were afraid of hurting him?" Fury asked tentatively.

"No. I used my full strength."

Captain America shook his head.

"What?"

Shock appeared in Fury's one eye.

Others might not know Captain America's physical capabilities, but how could he not?

Fury looked at Luo Wen's retreating back, momentarily at a loss for words.

Luo Wen paid no attention to what Fury and Captain America might think and drove Sharon straight to the Stark Industries building.

Tony had invited several important clients for him, and the exhibition was being held in the first-floor showroom of the Stark Industries building.

"Everyone, I am the chairman of Kroll Industries. The beauty beside me is Kroll Industries' CEO, Sharon."

"I know you're all attending today's exhibition out of respect for Tony, so I won't waste time. I'll directly demonstrate the performance of Kroll Alloy."

At the podium, Luo Wen stood before the microphone and addressed the dozen or so attendees below.

Luo Wen's tone was neither servile nor overbearing, while his gaze was steady and confident.

The dozen or so attendees carried considerable weight. It was clear Tony had put in some effort.

Among them were representatives from the Military, Hammer Industries, the Metal Association, and even NASA. Though they were not major figures such as presidents or vice presidents, they were more than capable of bringing news from today's exhibition back to their respective higher-ups.

After speaking, Luo Wen began the demonstration.

"Kroll Alloy is theoretically divided into ten levels. At present, Kroll Industries only sells the first five levels of Kroll Alloy to the public. First, let us test the various properties of Level 2 Kroll Alloy."

Luo Wen showed everyone the Level 2 Kroll Alloy inside the glass display case.

Afterward, Luo Wen operated a mechanical arm to conduct performance tests on the Level 2 Kroll Alloy.

The representative from Hammer Industries exclaimed in amazement.

Looking at the results on the LCD screen, the representatives gaped. Some even rubbed their eyes.

Such an exceptional alloy had never appeared before!

"Mr. Luo Wen, are you sure these are real figures?"

The representative from Hammer Technologies could not help asking.

He simply could not believe the test data before his eyes.

"Of course. If you don't believe it, you may test it yourselves."

Luo Wen made a gesture inviting them to do so.

At once, the representatives rushed forward and gathered around the Level 3 Kroll Alloy.

The elderly NASA representative even took out a portable instrument on the spot and conducted a simple test on the piece of Level 3 Kroll Alloy.

The resulting figures matched Luo Wen's test data exactly!

"My God, it's real!"

"The alloy industry is about to be turned upside down!"

"No wonder Stark invited us here!"

The dozen or so representatives were in a frenzy, their eyes burning with excitement as they stared at the piece of Level 3 Kroll Alloy.

An alloy with such properties would be immensely useful, whether for weapons or other fields.
