Chapter 4: Local Boss Zhou Huayang
"Hey, handsome, is Brother Zhou Huayang in the KTV?"
Luo Wen stepped forward and asked.
The two blond-haired punks smoking nearby turned to look at Luo Wen.
"What do you want with Brother Zhou?"
One of the blond punks in a leather jacket asked casually, his attitude not particularly hostile.
After all, Luo Wen had called them "handsome" and "Brother Zhou," which pleased them.
Looks like these two really are Zhou Huayang's lackeys. Luo Wen smiled faintly.
"I'm looking to sell Brother Zhou some premium goods, and handle something while I'm at it."
Luo Wen said with a smile, showing no sign of nervousness or timidity.
The two punks sized Luo Wen up.
He was tall and straight-backed, with features suggesting some Western ancestry. Though his clothes were simple, they did not look cheap, and his bearing was not that of a poor man.
The two exchanged a glance and labeled Luo Wen as "valuable."
"Alright, wait here. I'll go inside and ask Brother Zhou for you."
The blond punk in the leather jacket swung his leg off the motorcycle, nodded to Luo Wen, and headed into Golden Ocean KTV.
"You smoke?"
The remaining blond punk, dressed in a skull hoodie, pulled out a pack of cigarettes and offered one to Luo Wen.
"I'll take one."
Luo Wen accepted one with a smile and lit it using the lighter the other man handed him.
He had not smoked much to begin with, and after crossing over, he had not smoked at all, since Hill would not allow it.
But now that he was asking someone for a favor, sharing a cigarette could help build rapport.
Otherwise, if he refused the cigarette they offered, the two of them would just be staring at each other awkwardly.
Before he had even smoked half of it, the blond lackey in the leather jacket came back out and jerked his head at Luo Wen. "Come with me. Brother Zhou wants to see you."
"Okay."
Luo Wen stubbed out his cigarette and followed him inside.
Soon, the two arrived outside a private room.
The leather-jacketed lackey pushed open the door. Inside, a bespectacled young man had his arm around a young girl and was howling horribly into a microphone.
"Brother Zhou, I brought him."
"Oh?" Zhou Huayang, wearing glasses, stopped singing and looked Luo Wen over.
"Hello, Brother Zhou." Luo Wen greeted him with a smile.
Zhou Huayang nodded. "I heard you have something good to sell me?"
"That's right." Luo Wen replied, but did not continue.
Zhou Huayang immediately understood. He pushed the girl from his arms away and said to his lackey, "You two, get out first."
The blond lackey in the leather jacket and the young girl obediently left the private room.
"Come, sit." Zhou Huayang patted the sofa beside him.
Luo Wen sat down, unfastening the Deep Sea Black from the Casio Sea-Dweller Series on his left wrist at the same time.
Its market price was roughly the same as a Rolex Green Submariner—around a hundred thousand yuan.
But that was in the Marvel world.
Here, in Swallowed Star, it was already 2055.
This Casio Deep Sea Black was undoubtedly an "antique" from before the Great Nirvana.
And it was an "antique" in superb condition, preserved almost perfectly.
Zhou Huayang came from the Zhou Family of Yangzhou, so he was clearly someone who knew his stuff. The moment Luo Wen handed over the watch, he recognized it at a glance.
"A Casio Deep Sea Black from before the Great Nirvana? This watch was released in 2008!"
The instant Zhou Huayang took the watch, he exclaimed in surprise.
"Damn, how could a forty-year-old watch be kept this new? Brother, no wonder you called it premium goods!"
Zhou Huayang turned the Casio Deep Sea Black over and over in his hands, liking it more the longer he looked.
Mechanical watches were a man's favorite, even after the Great Nirvana. Most elite non-Martial Artists still wore expensive mechanical watches to display their status.
A high-end antique mechanical watch in nearly perfect condition like this would definitely appeal to plenty of old geezers.
"My family just preserved it well."
Luo Wen smiled lightly and gave a simple answer. He said that because he was afraid Zhou Huayang might try to rob him.
Hearing Luo Wen's words, Zhou Huayang began forming all sorts of guesses.
With Western ancestry, a family capable of preserving a famous watch like the Casio Deep Sea Blue, and such outstanding looks and bearing, there was no way a young man like this could have come from an ordinary family.
"Little brother, are you sure you want to sell me this watch? Your family..."
Zhou Huayang trailed off halfway through.
Clearly, he felt the watch was too precious and worried that Luo Wen lacked the authority to sell it. What if Luo Wen sold it to him, only for his family to take it back afterward?
"Don't worry, Brother Zhou. This watch was a birthday gift. I have the right to dispose of it."
Luo Wen spoke calmly.
Seeing nothing amiss in Luo Wen's expression or tone, Zhou Huayang broke into a smile.
He was definitely getting this watch!
There were simply too few of these things on the market. Using it as a gift would absolutely win him the favor of some old fogeys.
"How much do you want for it?"
Zhou Huayang asked warmly.
"Eight hundred thousand Chinese Yuan," Luo Wen said.
"Eight hundred thousand? Sure!"
Zhou Huayang's attitude toward Luo Wen became even friendlier.
Before the Great Nirvana, this watch had sold for over a hundred thousand Chinese Yuan.
Now, more than thirty years had passed, along with the brutal Great Nirvana. Eight hundred thousand was not expensive at all.
"By the way, little brother, I heard you also wanted me to handle something for you?"
Zhou Huayang continued.
Luo Wen smiled. "Yes, Brother Zhou. I'd like to trouble you to get me a fake identity."
"?"
Zhou Huayang looked stunned.
He had never expected Luo Wen to ask him for something like that.
A whole string of scenarios immediately played out in his mind.
But Zhou Huayang quickly stopped himself from speculating.
In their line of work, the most important thing was keeping their clients' secrets.
"Alright, that's not difficult."
Zhou Huayang nodded readily.
"Brother Zhou, I need the identity to be flawless—the kind where no one can find any loopholes at all..."
Luo Wen said pointedly.
The matter of identity was extremely important; it concerned his safety.
There were too many powerful people on Earth in Swallowed Star. If there was even the slightest flaw in his identity, it would be easy for those experts to target him.
"Flawless... That's a little difficult, but not impossible."
Zhou Huayang frowned and thought for a moment before muttering.
"How about this, Brother Zhou? You only need to give me six hundred thousand. The remaining two hundred thousand can be considered payment for arranging the identity. What do you think?"
"Alright, little brother, you're a straightforward man!"
Zhou Huayang slapped his thigh and agreed immediately.
Obtaining a fake identity was no more than a trivial matter for him.
If it had to be completely flawless, the kind that no one could uncover any issues with, it would take some effort—but only some effort.
Luo Wen was handing over two hundred thousand just like that. It was practically free money.
Afterward, Zhou Huayang enthusiastically pulled Luo Wen into having a few drinks, and they even sang a song together.
"Brother Luo Wen, come here in two days to collect the identity documents. You can rest assured when I handle things."
When it was time to leave, Zhou Huayang threw an arm around Luo Wen's shoulders and personally escorted him to the entrance of Golden Ocean KTV, leaving the two blond-haired lackeys from earlier staring in astonishment.
"Okay, then I'll be troubling you, Brother Zhou."
"What are you talking about!"
Carrying a black travel bag, Luo Wen waved to Zhou Huayang before leaving Golden Ocean KTV.
