Hill: If Fury Gives You Trouble, I'll Resign
Obadiah controlled the Iron Monger Armor, struggling continuously as he tried to break free from Tony's hold.
Tony realized that the Iron Monger Armor completely outmatched him in strength. It would be difficult to win in close combat.
"Tony, drag him into the sea!"
Seeing Tony grappling with Obadiah in midair, Luo Wen shouted loudly.
Tony froze for a moment, then looked at the gaps in Obadiah's neck guard and helmet. He immediately understood what Luo Wen meant.
Without another word, Tony engaged full power and dragged Obadiah crashing toward the distant sea.
"No!"
Obadiah kept hammering Tony, trying to throw him off.
But Tony's Iron Man Armor was made entirely of Level 3 Kroll Alloy, with critical areas reinforced by Level 4 Kroll Alloy. The Iron Monger Armor could not inflict any effective damage at all.
Obadiah's eyes nearly split with rage. His head armor had been damaged—once he fell into the sea, water would definitely flood in!
Boom!
A massive splash erupted from the water as Tony dragged Obadiah straight down toward the seabed.
Seeing this, Luo Wen let out a sigh of relief.
Although Tony was low on energy, his armor was intact and could operate on the seafloor.
Obadiah's armor, however, was damaged. With seawater flooding in, he would drown before long.
"Tony!"
Seeing Tony drag Obadiah into the sea, Pepper cried out anxiously.
Luo Wen had returned by then as well.
"Don't worry. His armor is perfectly intact. He'll be fine," Luo Wen reassured Pepper Potts.
Only then did Pepper relax slightly.
"Luo Wen, are you okay?"
Hill rushed over to Luo Wen immediately and checked him over.
Only after finding no significant wounds on him did she breathe a sigh of relief.
But once her worry subsided, Hill stared fixedly at Luo Wen.
Clearly, she was deeply puzzled by why Luo Wen had suddenly become so powerful.
Luo Wen's scalp prickled under Hill's gaze. Helpless, he could only say, "Tony isn't out of danger yet. Can we talk about it after we get back?"
Remembering how Luo Wen had narrowly saved her just moments ago, Hill's expression immediately softened.
"Okay."
"Edward, Rosen, come with me to check the casualties!"
After steadying herself, Hill immediately regained her capable demeanor and issued orders to the two agents beside her.
"Yes."
After speaking, Hill immediately led the two of them away to inspect the casualties among the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.
Meanwhile, Luo Wen and Pepper headed toward the shore.
Fortunately, about five minutes later, a red-and-gold figure shot out of the seawater, trailing a cloud of mist behind it.
It was Tony.
Tony's energy was nearly depleted as well, and he landed unsteadily.
"Tony!"
Pepper Potts immediately rushed over and supported him.
Seeing that Pepper was unharmed, Tony smiled.
"Luo Wen, we really have you to thank this time," Tony said sincerely when he saw him.
"Alright, as long as you're fine. I won't interrupt you two whispering sweet nothings," Luo Wen said, spreading his hands before turning and leaving.
If he stayed any longer, he would become a third wheel.
As for Obadiah, he had not surfaced after all this time. He was surely dead.
By the time Luo Wen returned to the Stark Industries complex, a large number of agents in black had already surrounded the area.
Clearly, S.H.I.E.L.D. had taken over the place.
Luo Wen did not go back inside to join the commotion.
Otherwise, if Fury saw him, he would definitely start asking all sorts of questions.
He couldn't be bothered explaining anything to Egg.
Hill would definitely be home later.
So Luo Wen hailed a cab and went straight back to the S.H.I.E.L.D. apartment.
It was around midnight when Hill finally returned home.
When Hill got home, she found Luo Wen waiting for her with several dishes prepared.
After all the chaos that night, Hill was hungry and exhausted, so she immediately started eating.
After dinner, Hill looked at Luo Wen and asked, "What was that about just now?"
Luo Wen naturally knew what she was asking about.
Luo Wen wiped his mouth. "You mean why I got stronger?"
"Mm." Hill nodded.
"Because... I'm a martial artist now!"
"A martial artist?" Hill looked somewhat confused. She had no real concept of what a martial artist was.
"You can think of it as me having taken a very powerful master. He taught me some powerful abilities that ordinary people can't learn."
Hill's expression became conflicted. The more she listened, the more confused she became.
"I've only just started. I'll only get stronger in the future."
Luo Wen continued.
"Huh? You've only just started?" Hill was a little shocked.
Judging from Luo Wen's fight with Obadiah just now, his physical abilities and combat skills were probably no worse than Hawkeye's or Natasha's.
What would it look like if he became even stronger?
Seeing Hill's expression, Luo Wen smiled faintly. "Strong enough to break the sound barrier with my speed and destroy a building with one punch."
Luo Wen was afraid Hill wouldn't be able to accept it, so he put it conservatively.
In truth, he could do that as long as he reached Junior Wargod.
And a Wargod was still only the starting point for a martial artist...
"Oh my God!"
Hill covered her mouth in disbelief.
She knew Luo Wen wasn't joking.
Luo Wen was her younger brother. She knew when he was joking and when he wasn't.
When he spoke just now, his eyes had been very serious.
"Then, then..."
For a moment, Hill didn't know how to put it into words. Her mind was a mess.
Fortunately, she had recently encountered both Hulk and Captain America, so she was more receptive to extraordinary powers.
"What do you mean, 'then'? Isn't it a good thing that I've become stronger?"
Luo Wen shrugged.
"Mm... it is."
Hill remembered how Luo Wen had arrived at the critical moment and saved her.
Thinking about it carefully, Luo Wen becoming stronger really was a good thing.
"Exactly."
"But what about the director...?"
Hill frowned.
She understood Fury's personality.
Once he learned that Luo Wen possessed extraordinary powers, he would definitely try to study and control him.
Hill also understood Luo Wen's personality.
It was almost impossible for Luo Wen to voluntarily reveal his secret to S.H.I.E.L.D.
Luo Wen chuckled. Of course he knew Fury's personality.
If Fury insisted on using force to pressure him, then he shouldn't blame Luo Wen for turning hostile.
Hill only hesitated for two seconds before making her decision.
Hill raised her head and looked at Luo Wen. "Luo Wen, I'll talk to Fury. If he insists on forcing you, then we'll leave S.H.I.E.L.D.!"
Hearing Hill's words, Luo Wen smiled.
That worked too. Hill could step in and stop Fury from probing into his secrets.
Fury refused, and he would take Hill away from S.H.I.E.L.D.
If Fury did not refuse, then everyone could continue getting along peacefully.
As for whether Fury would try to arrest him by force?
Luo Wen was not too worried.
Over the next period of time, his strength would improve rapidly. S.H.I.E.L.D.'s people would be unable to do anything to him.
The night passed without incident.
The next day, Hill went to work early.
Seeing how hurried she was, she was clearly planning to negotiate with Fury.
Luo Wen, meanwhile, returned to the Swallowed Star world to eat Monster Meat and temper his body.
However, he shifted more of his training focus toward speed.
That evening, Hill told Luo Wen that she had revealed a little about Martial Artists to Fury, and Fury had agreed not to disturb Luo Wen.
Over the following days, Fury indeed did not come to question Luo Wen, nor did he send anyone to monitor him.
Luo Wen was somewhat surprised. Since when had that Egg Fury changed his ways?
What Luo Wen did not know was that Fury had already begun secretly planning to form the Avengers.
The last time he saw Luo Wen pin Captain America down, he had already added Luo Wen to his list of potential candidates.
After learning that Luo Wen would only grow stronger in the future, he became even more certain of the idea.
Since he intended to recruit Luo Wen into the Avengers, Fury naturally gave him enough respect.
With Fury not coming to bother him, Luo Wen was happy to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Over the next week, he trained wholeheartedly.
He was desperate to become stronger.
He could not even instantly defeat Obadiah's Iron Monger Armor. As a transmigrator, he found that somewhat embarrassing.
And so, one week later.
Luo Wen arrived in the Swallowed Star world and took the subway to Yangzhou City's central district.
He was going to take the Quasi-Martial Artist assessment!
