The Abyss Plane, the Spirit Realm.
"Huo Yuhao!!!!!!"
The Spirit Emperor was furious. When Huo Yuhao unleashed the Destruction Fire Lotus, he had immediately tried to evade it and escape into the Abyss Passage, yet he had still suffered considerable injuries.
Aside from the Abyssal Sage King, this was the first time anyone had injured him. The Spirit Emperor, who had always treasured his own body above all else, was therefore furious beyond measure.
In theory, as long as their abyssal energy had not dissipated, any abyssal creature could be reborn, even Abyssal Emperors such as the Spirit Emperor and the Blaze Emperor. In reality, however, not every abyssal creature was willing to undergo rebirth.
The lower abyssal creatures did not care. They had no intelligence at all, only the instinct to fight. If they died under the leadership of their clan chiefs, then they died; before long, they would revive.
But the higher an abyssal creature's rank, the more it treasured itself. Once it died, the plane would indeed give birth to another existence like it, with roughly the same strength.
Yet aside from the long time required for rebirth, the most important point was that the reborn creature would, in essence, be a completely different individual.
For instance, if the Spirit Emperor died, another Spirit Emperor would be born in his Second Abyss Layer. But that would be one of his clansmen evolving by absorbing the abyssal energy he left behind.
In truth, he himself would still be dead. That newly born Spirit Emperor would not truly be him, nor would he possess the same memories or sense of self.
Having struggled so hard to reach a position above one and below ten thousand, how could these high-ranking abyssal powerhouses be willing to die?
