After a flurry of thoughts, Xuan Zi heaved a long sigh, closed his eyes, and faced Xu Sanshi. "Come on."
Xu Sanshi glanced at the Hourglass overhead, gritted his teeth, and strode toward Xuan Zi.
He kept chanting to himself, They're just two slices of sausage. Two slices of sausage. Two slices of sausage...
Xuan Zi was silently chanting an incantation of his own: Just pretend a pig's gnawing on me. A pig's gnawing on me. A pig's gnawing on me...
At last, Xu Sanshi reached Xuan Zi.
Xu Sanshi had grown considerably taller. They were now about the same height, so neither needed to accommodate the other.
Yet despite being so close, Xu Sanshi stopped dead.
Those aren't actually sausages!
Wine and grease still clung to Xuan Zi's mouth, and the longer Xu Sanshi looked, the more sickened he felt.
Still, compared to his life, a little disgust hardly mattered.
"Here I come!" Xu Sanshi couldn't help saying.
With his eyes closed, Xuan Zi snapped, "Get on with it, you little bastard."
Xu Sanshi gritted his teeth, squeezed his eyes shut, and leaned straight in.
"Blargh..." The instant Xuan Zi felt something touch his mouth, he finally lost control.
Everything he had just eaten surged out along with the churning acid in his stomach.
"Blargh..." Because of his mood, Xu Sanshi had been holding his head slightly lowered, so what bumped against Xuan Zi's lips was his nose.
Now that Xuan Zi had vomited all over his face, his resolve crumbled in an instant.
He, too, began vomiting violently, throwing up all over Xuan Zi.
What had seemed like a fairly easy adventure had now become a nightmare for Xuan Zi and Xu Sanshi. Both vomited with truly spectacular abandon.
"Pollute the Valley. Proceed directly to Deep Adventure."
