"Hiss..." Guang Ling stared at the canary for quite a while before frowning. "Yue'er, now that you mention it, she really does look a little like one! Could she be an azure luan bird too?"
"No." Qian Renyue cut off that line of thought. "Azure luan birds are divine beasts serving the Queen Mother, not some birds you can find on every street. How could one appear here? She probably just looks like an azure luan bird. I imagine she's only a canary."

Seeing that Qian Renyue had little interest in answering his question, Guang Ling thought he must have said something wrong. Hadn't he only asked what a Queen Mother was? Why wouldn't Yue'er tell him?
Could it be something truly extraordinary?
"Hmm..."
Guang Ling pondered it on his own but could not make sense of it. Smacking his lips, he looked at the canary in Qian Renyue's hands and answered her question on the bird's behalf. "She doesn't want to."
"I wasn't asking you. How do you know she doesn't want to?" Qian Renyue shot back.
"Because I already asked her last night," Guang Ling explained. "She insisted on refusing to come with us. She would rather freeze out here by herself than keep warm with us. What a stubborn temper!"
Qian Renyue glanced back
