Nuo Ya had not struck Xiao Wu directly with the axe blade because she had tested this soul skill before-it could cleave a small tree clean in half at the waist!

With Xiao Wu's slight frame, taking that blow would probably have left her dead or crippled. Nuo Ya might have been unruly, but she was not someone who casually took lives.

So, almost instinctively, she had turned the chop into a smack.

Boom!

With a deafening explosion, the tremendous force sent Xiao Wu flying. She slammed heavily into a park lounge chair, then fell to the ground with a dull thud.

"Cough, cough!"

Xiao Wu struggled to get up, only to discover that her entire body had gone limp. She could not stand at all and could only lie on the ground, coughing with all her strength in an attempt to ease the pain.

As Nuo Ya watched Xiao Wu lying there and coughing nonstop, a teasing expression appeared on her face.

"Little girl, you don't look too comfortable. Need your big sister to help?" Nuo Ya crouched down and looked down at Xiao Wu, her tone faintly playful.

"None of your business!" Xiao Wu shouted angrily. She raised her head, her pink eyes glaring straight at Nuo Ya from within their dark circles, her face full of defiance.

"Hehe!" Nuo Ya chuckled. "You really are an interesting little girl."

"Don't get too smug. Once I get my first soul ring, I'll definitely come back for revenge!" Xiao Wu said through gritted teeth.

"Really? I'll be waiting!" Nuo Ya replied with a smile.

"Just you wait! Don't come crying and begging for mercy then!"

After speaking, Xiao Wu struggled twice before collapsing onto the ground again. Her face was frighteningly pale, as though she might faint at any moment.
