The Black Tide that had been building up inside the Forest Goods Market for so long did not obediently swarm out through the gate the wizards had left open for it, as Zheng Qing had imagined.
Instead, it smashed down every wall at the front of the market, expanding the originally cramped battlefield dozens of times over. Crimson Flame shot into the sky, heat waves rolled outward, and Chimeras and Huo Dou, acting as the vanguard, followed behind the Wild Hunt and set fires across the front lines.

The thunderous crash of the collapsing walls intimidated every eager young wizard. Wave after wave of dark beasts poured out from behind the walls like a tide, crashing headlong into the wizards' long-prepared line.
Zheng Qing felt that he finally understood why the old people of Beta Town called this sort of disaster a "Black Tide."
