For once, a trace of embarrassment appeared on Fatty Xin's face.
"Heh, what White Mouse or Black Rat? Drug testing, my ass—you're overthinking it!" Fatty Xin swiftly put away the vial in hand and stuffed it into his watch, shaking his head like a rattle-drum. "Besides, what I used wasn't Guan Guan Bird saliva. It was Guan Guan Nasal Extract... In a sense, the snout isn't really part of a bird's beak."
The Guan Guan Bird was a Magical Creature shaped somewhat like a turtledove, normally living Deep within the Silent Forest. It was not much larger than a domestic pigeon, but its cry was loud, like a person barking angrily. Its meat was delicious and highly sought after in the Wizarding World, which had once led to it being hunted to the brink of extinction.
Even now, the largest known flock of Guan Guan Birds in the entire Wizarding World lived Deep within the Silent Forest. Recently, however, the black tide had surged through the Silent Forest, carrying some Guan Guan Birds to the forest's edge, where the wizards protecting the town had hunted them down. That was why they had begun appearing on the market.
Fatty Xin could be stingy at times, but as an old gourmand, he was never cheap when it came to food. The moment Wander Bar put up its Guan Guan Bird sign, he had forced Zheng Qing to use that Gold Card to snap one up.
Fortunately, aside from the
