For Zheng Qing, his experience at Monteria Laboratory had been somewhat eventful, but compared with the School Hunt Competition, the winter hunt, and the like, it had not been particularly remarkable.
The only thing troubling Zheng Qing was that he would have to work odd jobs at the laboratory every Saturday afternoon this semester. He had originally thought that, with Su Shijun's letter of introduction, he could undergo a complete bloodline examination and receive treatment as soon as he found Professor Monteria, much like snagging an appointment with a specialist at a hospital.
Unfortunately, Professor Monteria did not seem inclined to grant Zheng Qing that special privilege. Instead, he had Zheng Qing earn his chance at a bloodline examination through work alongside the laboratory's other assistants.
In private, Zheng Qing had even maliciously speculated that perhaps Professor Monteria was not capable enough to resolve his problem anytime soon, so he had chosen this perfectly proper method of stalling.
Of course, he only dared mutter such speculation quietly to his roommates. He would never say it aloud in the laboratory.
Saturday afternoon was spent working at Monteria Laboratory; Saturday night, doing homework; Sunday morning, drawing talismans for Wander Bar; at noon, inspecting the little shop D&K on Pedestrian Street and encouraging the hardworking Cat Three, Mouse Four, and Fox Five; then spending Sunday afternoon having tea with Ilena on their date.
The second weekend of the second semester came to an end amid such trivial busyness.
It was not until before the class meeting on Sunday evening that Zheng Qing suddenly remembered he had not written this week's journal. He could only rack his brains and bury himself in work amid the chaotic clamor around him.
But sometimes, the more desperately you sought peace and quiet, the more easily trouble came
