"I haven't even tampered with it yet!"
Nikita's eyes widened as she looked at the young wizard, then at the Water Eye that had already vanished, her face utterly incredulous. "I didn't do this... Can't you follow some rules?"
Forbidden Curses did not follow rules, Zheng Qing silently replied to himself.
"...Why did it suddenly explode?" The banshee patted her ample chest, putting on a startled expression. "It scared my heart nearly out of my chest."
Zheng Qing finally gave her a serious look.
"If it jumps out, I'll help you sell it. Lich hearts have always been hot commodities in the potion market." He made a malicious joke, then bluntly exposed the banshee's little scheme. "So stop pretending to be Zhu Si... Even Zhu Si wouldn't be as cowardly as you're pretending to be. You're a banshee. Could you at least act a little more vicious?"
"Acting weak and helpless can slightly improve my chances of survival." The banshee cast the young wizard a glance with her beautiful yet deathly scarlet eyes, her voice trembling just as it had before.
Zheng Qing let out a deep sigh and decided to give up on waking this monster who was forever clutching her "little golden man."
"I think I know how narrow this passage is," he said with a stern face. He glanced at the banshee and shook the gun muzzle in his hand in indication. "Let's go back... The people above should be getting anxious."
The banshee's mouth twitched. She seemed to want to say something, but ultimately said nothing, obediently swimming back toward the shore. Faintly, Zheng Qing could hear her muttering nonsense under her breath, things like "no public decency," "no magic etiquette," "Captain, save me," and "completely unreasonable."
The Cat tail coiled around his waist trembled slightly.
