The witch in the Cat Face Mask stood beside the Sin Eater, smiling as she watched the black cat streak toward the Cat Fruit Tree like a bolt of lightning. In a lighthearted tone, she concluded, "As for the standard for judging whether it passes the test, that depends on how it overcomes this envy... and how long it takes. If it is controlled by envy and does something out of control, then I can only say I'm sorry."
"That's too cruel."
The wizard in the White Mask shook his head, his voice full of feeling. "Making a cat face one of the sourest tastes in the world—only you would do that... I thought you would be like Lucifer and just go through the motions."
"Doesn't this count as going through the motions?" The witch in the Cat Face Mask lifted her chin. "Back then, I had to challenge a three-headed snake to inherit this position. As for Lucifer, his test was not simple either. Pride was an exceedingly subtle emotion to begin with."
"I don't know whether it's subtle or not, but I think dealing with a three-headed snake might be easier for that cat." The Sin Eater chuckled, then changed the subject. "Come to think of it, I was wondering earlier—do you know this black cat?"
"Why would you think that?"
"I only just found out that the black cat had a date tonight." The wizard spread his hands, unable to conceal his curiosity. "I don't even know whether its date is a dog or a cat... yet you were able to tailor such an exquisite
