Old-school wizards often said there were two kinds of wizards in the world: those whose souls ruled their bodies, and those whose bodies were ruled by their souls. The former displayed self-awareness and self-discipline, while the latter displayed ignorance and loss of control.
But Zheng Qing believed there was a third kind beyond those two.
The self-aware yet uncontrollable kind.
Like those immense beings who had exiled themselves into the Starry Sky; like the liches slowly corrupted by demonic aura; and like Dark Wizard Wotrey or Mister Varis of the North District, who had willingly accepted the ravens' alterations. They knew they might lose control at some point in the future, yet they would not change because of it.
Zheng Qing did not want to become the third kind of wizard.
He only wanted to live a peaceful, steady life.
But most of the time, life seemed to enjoy developing against people's wishes. Just like now.
