These days, he occasionally found himself thinking of Du Shaoling's line: "I scratch my white hair ever shorter, until it can scarcely hold a hairpin."
For another, the Seven Deadly Sins were simply too laid-back.
Bound by the intentions behind its founding, the organization's structure was exceedingly loose, and every member enjoyed a great deal of freedom.
As the previous Sin Eater had once described it to him, rather than a society, it was more like a tea-break club. They were idle visitors sitting in a strange café, enjoying absolute freedom under strict constraints.
In short, although Zheng Qing, as the current "Sin Eater," played the role of "judge" within this secret society, he did not possess much coercive power.
Most of his usual work instead involved acting as a broker between the Seven Deadly Sins and other organizations.

When an off-campus organization that possessed the Seven Deadly Sins' contact information tried to commission a task, the only person it could find was him, the "Sin Eater." And the first thing he needed to do was communicate with the other seven members and coordinate a meeting time.
