Sunday evening.
Before the class meeting began.
Zheng Qing was the first student to arrive at Classroom East 601.
With no one else in the classroom, the Stick Figure seemed listless. It merely glanced at the young teaching assistant, then hugged its potato-like head on the white paper and fussed with the few sparse strands of hair atop it.
Zheng Qing had come to the classroom so early for two reasons. First, when he left the Teaching Assistant Group's large conference room, it was already close to three in the afternoon. If he hurried back to the dormitory at that hour and finished one or two assignments, he would have to rush straight back to the teaching building. Going back and forth would waste at least half an hour on the road.
For Zheng Qing right now, nothing was more precious than time.
Second, during the nearly six-hour meeting from morning to afternoon, Zheng Qing had spent most of his time studying at a higher efficiency than usual. After that stretch of intensive study, when he walked out of the conference room into the brilliant afternoon sunlight, he had a powerful feeling that if he returned to the dormitory now, he would immediately collapse into bed and fall asleep.
Going to the classroom could, to some extent, prevent that from happening.
But Zheng Qing had clearly overestimated his willpower and underestimated the extent of his exhaustion.
Sitting alone in the classroom, before he had even finished a single assignment—or, more precisely, just after his Quill Pen had left the first line of writing on the parchment—the young wizard drifted into a drowsy state. Fortunately, he had kept an Invisibility Talisman on himself before falling asleep, so he did not have to worry about someone throwing a sack over him in
