"I don't know whether meeting you today is a good thing or a bad thing."
Those were the first words Old Yao said after the office door closed.
Zheng Qing and the Shadow Cat looked at each other, both startled by those words—weren't Legendary Wizards supposed to be practically "all-knowing and all-powerful"? He had barely met them before dropping such a huge burden on them. Wasn't he afraid of snapping their fragile little necks?
The Little Green Dragon hanging from Zheng Qing's ear, however, raised its head even higher.
Old Yao walked around the desk to the tall mahogany bookcase. He held a pipe in his hand, letting the faint blue smoke from its bowl gradually dissipate. He did not take a puff for a long time, as though he were hesitating.

The Shadow Cat's last two words were forcibly blocked by an invisible force. After a pause, it muttered again, "What I mean is, anyway, the cat's here, so stop hemming and hawing. It doesn't suit you at all!"
Old Yao did not speak immediately. Instead, he continued pacing before the bookcase.
He paced for a long while.
Only when Zheng Qing was nearly asleep on the sofa did he finally frown and slowly ask, "—Suppose, and I mean suppose... suppose you possessed an evil weapon. Would you destroy it, or use it?"
Zheng Qing instantly perked up.
But after thinking it over carefully, he realized in astonishment that this was not some classic Hollywood movie question? A good person acquired a powerful evil weapon, then insisted on destroying it. Zheng Qing had mocked this sort of plot plenty of times before.
