Because its name contained the word "robe," Zheng Qing had rather subjectively assumed that the Battle Robe Colmar and Old Yao mentioned was not much different from the Wizard Robe he usually wore. Perhaps it simply had a bit more protective armor on its surface, like the robes many hunting teams wore in the hunting grounds.
Not until he actually saw the Battle Robe standing atop a short cylindrical pedestal.
Did he realize just how wildly mistaken he had been.
Rather than a Battle Robe, Zheng Qing felt that a more fitting name for it would be "Mark II"—yes, Iron Man's metal armor. From helmet to gloves to boots, the entire suit covered every part of the body. Not even the eyes were exposed.
The only difference from Mark I was that this armor had many protrusions distributed across its shoulders, elbows, wrists, back, waist, legs, and other areas. They looked somewhat like snail antennae, soft and elastic to the touch, nothing like the bony spikes Zheng Qing had initially assumed were offensive or defensive mechanisms.
"Before Yun Mu finishes making your lining, you can't wear it."
Professor Yao stood nearby with a pipe clenched between his teeth. Seeing the boy's starry-eyed expression seemed to brighten his mood as well. He reached out and rapped the Battle Robe's helmet with curled fingers.
Knock, knock.
