When Guan Shanyun entered the lounge, it was evening. Orange-red light streamed through the tall floor-to-ceiling windows, falling on the lounge's owner and casting a long, narrow shadow across the thick crimson wool carpet.
Patrick Black sat behind his desk.
He was idly handling a deck of Tarot Cards.
Lord George's reply and the Seven Deadly Sins meeting had finally made him decide to take in a Blood Servant descendant with sufficient potential for the Black Family. Yet the faint sense of danger lingering in his heart refused to fade, and while waiting for his guest, he had unconsciously begun fiddling with the Tarot Cards.
