The Great Hall still seemed unable to shake off the oppressive atmosphere left by that small conflict in the morning. The ceiling remained shrouded in gloom, with huge masses of dark gray clouds rolling overhead.
Fred and George sat not far from Ron. All day, they had been like two bodyguards, glued to their youngest brother's side as though afraid that, if they looked away for even a moment, he would be snatched away by an evil Dark Wizard. It left Ron both touched and irritated.

Fred said carelessly to Lee Jordan, who was eating at the same table. "If you paid even a little attention, you'd have noticed that ever since he appeared, the dark clouds over Hogwarts Castle have hardly ever dispersed..."
