Everything the bean soldiers sensed flowed back into Zheng Qing's mind through the vast Heavenly Net and Earthly Snare Array, giving the Young Legendary a clearer understanding of the Black Prison World's actual condition.
"—Just what I'd expect from Xuanhuang Wood leaves."
Inside Taiyi, Zheng Qing opened his eyes as he hovered above the blue, three-tiered altar of glazed ware. His gaze seemed to pierce the white mist surrounding the altar, its walls, and the massive body of the legendary giant Artu Grut, reaching the bean soldiers scattered like grains of rice across the land of Black Prison.
With the bean soldiers refined from Xuanhuang Wood leaves at their core, other kinds of bean soldiers as their mainstay, and clay puppets and stone men animated by Zheng Qing's legendary magic as support, they formed squads of three to five. They hunted down the hidden prisoners in an orderly, efficient fashion, dragging them out of earthen hollows, cracks in rocks, and underground burrows, knocking them down, binding them, then gathering them together under guard.
Throughout the process, Zheng Qing needed to expend very little thought. The Xuanhuang Wood leaf bean soldiers at the core nodes readily understood his intentions, then took the initiative to direct the other bean soldiers in completing their tasks.
This spark of intelligence was something the bean soldiers made from ordinary hide paper and yellow talisman paper lacked.
If only I had more Xuanhuang Wood bean soldiers!
The thought flashed through Zheng Qing's mind.
He could award them to the students of Edge Academy. They would not need many: with three bean soldiers, a student could form a Three Powers Array and stand protected at its center; or they could use four for a Four Symbols Array, five for a Five Elements Array, six for a Hexagram
