Not long ago, while Zheng Qing was examining the image of the Book of the Dead, he noticed a handwritten note in ancient Sarn Runes on its title page: "That which sleeps eternally is not the dead."
Now, as he stared at the enormous Half-step Legendary Dragon Skeleton before him, Zheng Qing keenly felt the chilling truth contained within those words.
This Dragon Skeleton was by no means a simple "corpse." It was more like a terrifying will sunk into eternal slumber, its lingering might and laws like magma churning beneath a dormant volcano, capable of erupting at any moment and turning death into life.
"Waghar was an elder of the Western Dragon Clan. Hmm, using the terminology from modern school textbooks, they should be called the 'Zhuogen' Dragon Clan, right? Back in our day, we simply called them the Western Dragon Clan."
At some point, the Yellow Calico Cat had climbed back onto Zheng Qing's head. With a hint of wistfulness in its voice, it said, "By their clan's own classification, Waghar should now fall within the category of an Archaic Dragon. In theory, when someone of that stature falls, they directly enter the Dragon Tomb Realm of the Western Dragon Clan—the real Dragon Tomb Realm, a vast Great Thousand Worlds whose entire world is filled with the remains of dead dragons, rather than this Small World before you, where even taking a breath is difficult... Do you know why Waghar did not go there?"
"Why?"
Zheng Qing obligingly played along.
"Couldn't you figure that out with a quick divination?" Su Shijun poked the Young Legendary with some puzzlement, feeling that his question was rather unnecessary.
"As the ancients said: use calculation too often, and the spirit grows weary; when the spirit grows weary, it ceases to respond!"
