She sensed that faint sprouting deep within the earth.
For no reason, a wave of emotion rose in her heart.
It was like seeing a small oasis in an endless desert, or an island in a boundless ocean. Now, amid this limitless white, she saw a new color.
She could not help glancing back.
That enormous brass, wine-vessel-shaped structure crouched at the center of the green network, exactly like something she had once heard—every world had its own heart. This heart pumped slowly and powerfully, sending the resources the world desperately needed to every corner reached by the green net.

Yan Hua murmured, her wings tilting slightly as she avoided a pallid thunderstorm zone ahead. Her light body traced a graceful arc through the air, and in the blink of an eye, she vanished into the gray-white horizon.

The crisp sound of metal striking stone echoed through the valley.
When the mist drifting along the mountainside reached the source of the sound, it seemed to strike a fish-mouth water-dividing dike and abruptly split to either side, leaving a clean, open space in the middle.

One wore a black robe, with delicate features and a head of bushy brown hair; the other wore a cyan robe and had her hair in a bun, except that two furry pointed ears stood upright on either side
