"Something happened on Earth too."
On an asteroid in a remote region of the Milky Way Galaxy, the Guardians of the Galaxy were lying low and recuperating. Although the asteroid was surprisingly small, it contained rare energy minerals that could fuel their ship. With no extraction equipment on hand, however, Rocket Raccoon had to build some from scratch.
Fortunately, Groot had a habit of collecting space junk, and the Guardians of the Galaxy's ship was crammed with old parts and scrap metal.
Normally, all that junk piled up in the ship's corridors and rooms, making everyone bump into things as they walked around. Groot had been chewed out plenty of times over it.
Now, though, Groot was riding high. Rocket Raccoon, in particular, had completely dropped his old attitude of constantly shouting about throwing Groot's junk off the ship. He had to keep smiling ingratiatingly to get Groot's permission to pick through the piles for suitable materials.
"I am Groot!" (You need to apologize for what you did before!)
Groot clamored smugly. Although he only ever repeated that one line, which sounded like a self-introduction, the Guardians of the Galaxy could, surprisingly enough, understand his language.
"Okay, okay, we know how important you are."
Star-Lord soothed Groot.
"Rocket needs your scr-"

"I am Groot?!" (What did you say?)
"Uh..."
"Your treasures!"
Noticing how sensitive Groot was to the word "scrap," Star-Lord quickly corrected himself.
"Rocket needs your treasures to get us all out of here. We're stranded in this lousy place, and the ship's out of fuel. You don't want to spend your whole life here either, right? We can't even find any food."
To their surprise, something resembling a sly expression appeared on Groot's wrinkled, bark-covered face. Slender branches sprouted from his legs and sank into the soil
