Under the Creator's orders, the Reed Council attempted to open a portal to the Cancerverse.
But the entire Cancerverse was undergoing rapid mutation. Having devoured other universes, its overall informational complexity was soaring exponentially, making it impossible to pinpoint a stable set of coordinates.
Several times, the Reed Council tried to force a connection to the Cancerverse, only for mutant tentacles extending from the seemingly self-aware universe to feel their way back along it.
Fortunately, the Reed Council was full of geniuses, and they soon found a way into the Cancerverse. The Creator simulated the radiation emitted by its tentacles, then followed the path of a retracting tentacle and successfully entered.
Inside the Cancerverse, apart from the Eye Demon's emissary, Mar-Vell, and a handful of exceptionally powerful demonized superheroes, every infected ordinary living being had already been assimilated and consumed by the universe itself.
Throughout the vast universe, every inhabited planet had become a gigantic mutant sphere floating in the vacuum. They came in all manner of bizarre shapes, waving countless strange tentacles and baring their fangs. They had caught and torn apart many powerful beings from the several universes previously devoured.
The Creator tried to analyze and decipher the rules governing this universe. But with the entire universe in a state of violent chaos, his efforts went nowhere. Instead, he unexpectedly found its only normal living being.
Above a mutated, asymmetrical Biomass Spaceship, Mar-Vell maintained a connection to the evil god dimension where the Eye Demon resided, using it to steer the entire Cancerverse onward as it devoured other universes.
And behind Mar-Vell, a man floated in midair, his lips moving incessantly as he poured a mind-bewitching demonic voice into Mar-Vell's head.
"Brad!"
When the Creator noticed the culprit behind all this, boundless fury surged within him.
