"I think the terms of this deal need a slight revision."
Brad finished printing the new text and openly pressed his fingerprint onto the bottom.
Then he tossed it back to Mephisto.
"My terms are these: I promise not to use any technological power to interfere with your right to travel to and from the human world for one hundred years. In exchange, you hand over my subordinate's wife's soul to us, intact and unharmed."
Mephisto could swear he had never met anyone who negotiated with him like this, so much so that when he took the parchment, he actually lowered his head to read it.
The newly printed demon runes really did spell out the terms Brad had just stated.
Then he abruptly came to his senses and furiously tore the parchment to pieces.
"You arrogant brat! You dare make a fool of a great demon?!"
Brad looked regretful and puzzled.
"Make a fool of you? No, I'm doing no such thing. I'm proposing these terms in all sincerity."
Brad spoke earnestly.
"I'm not good at handling magical matters, especially magic from an Otherworldly Dimension like Hell. So once my development reaches a certain stage, I will inevitably sever the connections between Earth and most spaces where magical power exists."
"Magic represents variables I don't yet understand, and those variables introduce errors into my calculations that should never occur."
"If you don't believe in my power, I can demonstrate it right now."
Without waiting for the Hell Lord to react further, Brad raised his right hand, curled it into a fist, and pointed his index finger toward the sky, lifting his arm slightly.
