"Pokémon like Fearow are naturally fond of flying, and most Fearow are Pokémon that keep their promises. If a Trainer forms a deep bond with a Fearow, then even if they make it wait ten or twenty years, it will continue waiting and refuse to be captured by another Trainer." At Professor Oak's Laboratory in Pallet Town, Professor Oak was patiently teaching the children who were about to set off on their journeys.
"Professor Oak! How could anyone possibly do that? Make a Fearow wait more than ten years!" Little Tomo raised his hand and spoke with a serious expression.
"Yeah, yeah! How could someone do something like that?" the other children chimed in.
Meanwhile, an emerald-green Pokémon was patiently caring for the still-young Bulbasaur. These little ones would become the first Pokémon for some Trainers setting out on their journeys.
Professor Oak looked at Little Tomo and smiled. Little Tomo was also a child he thought highly of, one whose future achievements would be limitless. The boy loved Pokémon with all his heart, and his goal was clear: to become a Pokémon Master.
"Such situations are indeed rare, but nothing is absolute. Take Mitsuba, whom you all know. When he first set out on his journey, who would have imagined that he would become Champion?" Professor Oak laughed heartily and gave an example.
The children were immediately intrigued. They were all from Pallet Town and several nearby cities, so naturally they knew of Pallet Town's pride: Mitsuba, the first Champion in Kanto Region's history. He, too, had been a Trainer from Pallet Town.
That was precisely why even children from distant Cerulean City came to Pallet Town to receive their starter Pokémon before setting out on their journeys, contributing quite a bit to Pallet Town's economy.
"Big Brother Mitsuba!"
