Inside Lou Gao's workshop, Huo Yuhao was listening as Lou Gao presented the results of his ongoing research.
Lou Gao's research results were neither magnificent implements nor powerful divine weapons, but stack after stack of papers. According to Lou Gao, they contained records of every experiment he had conducted, and he wanted Huo Yuhao to look them over.
Huo Yuhao did not immediately take them to read. Instead, he asked, "Grandmaster Lou Gao, these contain the painstaking work of one experiment after another. If you let an outsider like me read them so easily, aren't you afraid I'll secretly memorize them, then go outside and claim them as my own?"
Lou Gao smiled at that. "If you really did that, I'd be delighted. After all, even if I begged people to steal these things now, they wouldn't bother. If someone really did steal them one day and printed them into books or spread them everywhere, I'd be overjoyed. After all, that would mean someone was finally willing to read these things, learn from them, and keep walking and developing the path I've traveled, instead of leaving them here as paper that would burn to ash with a touch of flame."
"But nobody thinks much of this sort of thing. These things don't help Soul Masters at all. After all, everyone prefers things that help Soul Masters cultivate."
"Soul Masters look down on them, and blacksmiths can't be bothered to read them either. After all, almost all blacksmiths forge metal based on their own experience and feel. They don't have much patience for reading what I've written on these papers."
"Just do this old man a favor. Read them and give me some suggestions." As he spoke, Lou Gao handed the papers to Huo Yuhao.
Huo Yuhao bowed, then accepted them
