Chapter Summaries

Chen Shi and his companions stayed at Professor Oak's Laboratory for a month, training their Pokémon and growing stronger. Steven's vacation ended, and he left to return to Devon Corporation after Chen Shi teased him about buying toys for Chen Shi and Cynthia's future daughter.

• Professor Oak explained that he had fed Rayquaza so much that it had become overweight, then welcomed Chen Shi, Steven, and Cynthia to stay and train at his laboratory.
• Chen Shi told Professor Oak that they had encountered Celebi, and Steven revealed that they had also met Chen Shi and Cynthia's future daughter.
• Chen Shi, Steven, and Cynthia trained their Pokémon at the laboratory for a month while Rayquaza lost its excess weight and their Pokémon grew stronger.

Mew told Chen Shi how Legendary Pokémon had failed to stop a contagious darkness that once infected Great-Horned Deer, and urged him to find the Lugia connected to a divine role. Chen Shi traveled with Cynthia and Mew to the deep sea, where they found a Lugia, but it fled as soon as it saw Mew.

• Mew explained that Legendary Pokémon had sought Arceus's help against the darkness, but Arceus only gave Great-Horned Deer the Fairy Plate to suppress it.
• Mew said it had sensed the Lugia with a divine role during Groudon and Kyogre's battle and could locate it in the same stretch of ocean.

• Ho-Oh arrived, heard Chen Shi call her "Shiny Fearow," and joined Lugia and Mew in deciding to seal Shadow Lugia in a small mystery realm.

Chen Shi's uncontrolled Psychic Power removed the dark aura from Shadow Lugia, astonishing Mew, Ho-Oh, and the Lugia chief. Mew declared Chen Shi the World Tree's guardian, but Ho-Oh offered him the role of Rainbow Hero, prompting Mew to challenge Ho-Oh.

• Chen Shi's Psychic Power surged out and dispelled Shadow Lugia's dark aura, restoring Lugia to normal.
• The Lugia chief checked on its kin, while Ho-Oh and the others realized the darkness had afflicted another powerful Pokémon without warning.

• Shate led Aji and five other hunters deeper into the forest to gather food before winter, relying on the magical beast Little Blue to protect them.
• Chen Shi fell from the sky and Dragapult caught him, after which Chen Shi wondered why a Bagon was in the Hisui Region.
