Ch. 381Forget Goomy-This One Was His Precious Treasure

Chen Shi stayed with the Goodra group by trading Pokéblocks, then discovered a Goomy with Near-Legendary potential and eagerly fed him extra food. A thunderous crash outside sent the Goodra leader and the other Goodra out to confront someone, leaving Chen Shi unsure what was happening.

  • Chen Shi handed out Pokéblocks to the Goodra group and persuaded their leader to let him sleep in their cave by threatening to take his trade elsewhere.
  • The Goodra surrounded Chen Shi's tent the next morning and eagerly led him to berries and his Pokéblock Maker so he could prepare more food.
  • Chen Shi made Pokéblocks for the Goodra group, Dragapult, and the others, while Togekiss complained that hers were worse than before.
  • Chen Shi scanned a hungry Goomy, discovered its Near-Legendary potential, and gave it an extra pile of Pokéblocks.
  • A thunderous crash sounded outside, and the Goodra leader led the other Goodra out while the Goomy and Sliggoo hid in the cave.

Ch. 382Kleavor

Chen Shi witnessed Kleavor threaten the Goodra clan and its young over Berries, then intervened when the Goodra attacked. He revealed that Kleavor was one of the Five Kings carrying a remaining Plate projection in the Hisui Region.

  • Goomy told Chen Shi that Kleavor repeatedly came to steal the Goodra's food, so Chen Shi went outside with Dragapult and the others.
  • Kleavor demanded more Berries from the Goodra, and the Goodra leader hesitated to fight because a battle could destroy their fruit trees.
  • When Kleavor threatened to kill the Goomy and Sliggoo, the Goodra attacked him in fury.
  • Kleavor used Quick Attack to rush toward the cave, but Chen Shi ordered Little V to strike him with V-create.
  • Chen Shi called for Little V to attack again and realized Kleavor was one of the Five Kings carrying a remaining Plate projection.

Ch. 383The Master of Changing Faces Was Back

Chen Shi helped the Goodra fight Kleavor and nearly secured the Stone Plate projection before Cogita stopped the battle. Cogita offered a Fairy Plate projection in exchange for Kleavor’s life, and Chen Shi eagerly accepted.

  • Chen Shi confronted Kleavor for threatening the Goodra and their offspring, prompting the Goodra to attack him.
  • Chen Shi used Victini’s Taunt and ordered the Goodra to use Blizzard, then Baby-Doll Eyes, to weaken and freeze Kleavor.
  • Chen Shi ordered the Goodra to strike the frozen Kleavor with Corkscrew Crash.
  • Cogita halted the battle and asked Chen Shi to spare Kleavor, offering a Fairy Plate projection for the Stone Plate projection.
  • Chen Shi accepted Cogita’s offer and asked when he would receive the Fairy Plate projection.

Ch. 384Legion

Arceus intervened to take Kleavor away, ending the battle and leaving the Goodra’s fruit grove nearly destroyed. Chen Shi began planning to use the Goodra as a fighting force and arranged for Florges, Togekiss, and Ralts to share the Fairy Plate projection and Xerneas Shard.

  • Arceus sent Chen Shi the Fairy Plate projection and removed Kleavor, allowing the Goodra to move again.
  • Chen Shi comforted the Goodra leader over the destroyed fruit trees, then proposed leading the Goodra group to claim territory and defeat Hisui’s other kings.
  • Chen Shi considered the Goodra a potential legion and reflected on the power of coordinated Pokémon forces.
  • Chen Shi gave Florges the Fairy Plate projection and instructed her to share it with Togekiss in three-day rotations.
  • Chen Shi put the Sachet around Ralts’s neck and told her to use it to gain insight while she slowly developed her potential.

Ch. 385Big Goo, Second Goo, Third Goo

Chen Shi asked Big Goo why the Goodra hated the Five Kings of Hisui, and learned about the brutal war that had devastated their group. After explaining how Pokémon Trainers helped Pokémon grow stronger, he left Big Goo watching Dragapult and the others train, reconsidering how quickly they had advanced.

  • Big Goo explained that the Five Kings of Hisui had turned tyrannical, demanding tribute and attacking Pokémon, until Zoroark and other Goodra led a costly resistance war that the Five Kings survived.
  • Chen Shi learned that Big Goo's group had lost most of its members in the battle and that Big Goo had taken sixty or seventy years to reach Champion Level.
  • Chen Shi told Big Goo that Dragapult and his other partners were less than two years old, but Big Goo doubted him.
  • Chen Shi described how Pokémon Trainers provided resources and training, allowing their Pokémon to focus on getting stronger.
  • Big Goo carried Chen Shi out of the cave and watched Dragapult and the others train, realizing they had grown strong because they did not have to worry about survival.

Ch. 386Big Goo's hesitation

After training the Goodra clan for two months, Chen Shi urged Big Goo to secure food by taking it from other clans. Big Goo remained troubled by the danger of fighting, but Second Goo and Third Goo rallied the other Goodra behind the plan.

  • Chen Shi spent two months training the Goomy and Sliggoo, while his Pokémon grew stronger and Ralts evolved and regained her potential.
  • Chen Shi learned that the clan's Berry supply was nearly gone after Kleavor damaged their fruit trees and Pokéblock-making consumed their stores.
  • Chen Shi urged Big Goo to reconsider his offer and lead the clan to take food from other Pokémon.
  • Big Goo hesitated because raids could lead to injuries and deaths among his clan members.
  • Second Goo and Third Goo urged Big Goo to fight, as more than twenty Goodra gathered behind them.

Ch. 387The Tsundere Dragon

Chen Shi persuaded Big Goo and the Goodra to fight for their clan’s future, reviving Big Goo’s youthful resolve. Cogita watched their coming struggle while Rayquaza arrived to ask about Autumn and whether he would see him again.

  • Chen Shi urged Big Goo and the Goodra to stop accepting mediocrity and fight for glory.
  • Big Goo remembered his ambition, the sacrifices his mother and clan elders made, and how fear after the War of the Five Kings had changed him.
  • Big Goo accepted the Goodra’s support and agreed to act.
  • Cogita watched Chen Shi persuade the Goodra and named the coming conflict the Crimson Throne.
  • Rayquaza visited Cogita, confirmed Autumn’s disappearance was connected to her, and asked whether he would ever see Autumn again.

Ch. 388The glory of the Hisui Region

Chen Shi led the Goodra clan to find a neighboring clan whose excess Berries they could take, choosing the Avalugg clan for its slow members and weakness to Steel. As they set out, he wondered about the Hisui Region’s powerful Pokémon and the task Arceus had sent him to complete.

  • Chen Shi asked Big Goo which nearby clans had large territories and plentiful food, and Big Goo named the Zoroark, Arcanine, Wyrdeer, and Avalugg clans.
  • Chen Shi chose the Avalugg clan because it was slow, weak to Steel, and might be led by one of the Five Kings of Hisui.
  • Big Goo agreed and led the Goodra clan toward the Avalugg territory.
  • Chen Shi reflected on the Hisui Region’s unusually strong Pokémon and wondered what Arceus had sent him there to do.

Ch. 389When in doubt? Intentional Punch!

Chen Shi led Big Goo and the Goodra clan to confront the Avalugg clan, hoping to claim their Berries. After discovering their leader was one of the Five Kings of Hisui and carried the Icicle Plate Projection, Chen Shi provoked a fight, and both clans prepared to battle.

  • Chen Shi left Florges, Swampert, Charizard, and Togekiss to guard the Goomy and Sliggoo while he and Big Goo led more than twenty Goodra toward the Avalugg territory.
  • Florges reassured Big Goo's child that Chen Shi would keep the adults safe because he was their Pokémon Trainer.
  • Chen Shi scanned the Avalugg leader and learned that he carried the Icicle Plate Projection and was one of the Five Kings of Hisui.
  • Chen Shi told Big Goo that the Plate Projection could help him break through to a higher level and said the being who had rescued Kleavor would not interfere.
  • Chen Shi demanded that the Avalugg clan hand over its Berries and threatened to reveal its leader's identity, prompting the Avalugg to ready themselves for battle.
  • Big Goo led the Goodra into battle as Chen Shi released Dragapult and Metagross.

Ch. 390You Could Do That?

Chen Shi stopped the Goodra and Avalugg from fighting in a Berry grove, then led the Goodra away and had them repeatedly use Shelter before the Avalugg arrived. The battle began with both sides unleashing Ground-type attacks.

  • Chen Shi persuaded the Goodra and Avalugg leaders to move their fight away from the Berry grove, and both groups followed him to a nearby battlefield.
  • Chen Shi stopped the Goodra and ordered them to use Shelter while they waited for the Avalugg to catch up.
  • The Goodra used Shelter at least three times, raising their defenses before the Avalugg arrived.
  • Chen Shi ordered the Goodra to use Bulldoze, shaking the ground and sending cracks toward the Avalugg.
  • The Avalugg leader answered with an order to use Earthquake, and the two Ground-type attacks collided.

Ch. 391Stubborn Big Goo

Big Goo and the Avalugg leader clashed as Chen Shi’s group supported him, and Big Goo refused to retreat when Earthquake threatened the Goodra behind him. His resolve awakened his Legendary rank, and he held off the attack, leaving both sides stunned.

  • The Avalugg leader struck first with a powerful Earthquake, rattling Big Goo and surprising Chen Shi.
  • Chen Shi ordered the group to support Big Goo with Flash Cannon while Metagross brought rain, and the attack blasted the Avalugg.
  • Chen Shi’s team used Protect against a second Earthquake, but the barriers began to crack, so he told them to fall back.
  • Second Goo and Third Goo refused to retreat, and Big Goo advanced to protect the Goodra behind him.
  • Big Goo broke through to the Legendary rank and held off the Earthquake with help from Victini and the others.
  • The Goodra, Avalugg, and Chen Shi stared in shock as Chen Shi recognized Big Goo as a worthy leader.

Ch. 392I Really Am Going to Finish You Off!

Chen Shi and the Goodra defeated the Avalugg led by one of the Five Kings of Hisui after Big Goo broke through to legendary level. Chen Shi confronted the fallen leader, but the Avalugg's calm acceptance of defeat left him anxiously insisting that he really would kill him.

  • Big Goo blocked the Avalugg's Earthquakes with Protect and broke through to legendary level, prompting Chen Shi and the Goodra to celebrate.
  • The Avalugg leader ordered his group to attack with Rock Slide, but Big Goo and the other Goodra countered with Water Pulse in the rain.
  • The Avalugg charged with Double-Edge, and the Goodra met them with Corkscrew Crash while Victini replenished their energy.
  • The Goodra blasted away the charging Avalugg with Corkscrew Crash, then used Flash Cannon and rain-boosted Water Pulse to defeat the survivors, including their leader.
  • Chen Shi rode Big Goo over to the fallen Avalugg leader and threatened to finish him off, then grew anxious when the leader calmly waited for his fate.

Ch. 393Yeah, sure, whatever you say

Chen Shi forced Cogita to hand over an Iron Plate projection and Poké Balls after she rescued Avalugg, then helped the Goodra claim Avalugg’s Berry stores. He tried to persuade Big Goo to join him in defeating the other Five Kings of Hisui for more Plates, but Big Goo remained unconvinced.

  • Chen Shi threatened Avalugg until Cogita appeared and gave him an Iron Plate projection and a thousand regular Poké Balls.
  • Chen Shi and Dragapult found the Goomy and Sliggoo, then reunited with Big Goo and the Goodra in Avalugg’s territory.
  • Chen Shi and Big Goo found Avalugg’s ice cave, where the Goodra discovered a huge stockpile of Berries.
  • Chen Shi showed Big Goo the Iron Plate and urged him to help defeat the other Five Kings of Hisui for more Plates.
  • Big Goo repeatedly dismissed Chen Shi’s appeals, frustrating him.

Ch. 394Pokémon Were Getting Harder and Harder to Sweet-talk

Chen Shi tried to persuade Victini to use its stored victory energy to break through to Legendary so they could challenge the Five Kings of Hisui. Victini agreed to fight alongside him and decided that the breakthrough was worth the time needed to stabilize its strength.

  • Chen Shi realized Victini had reached Champion Peak and could potentially break through to Legendary by absorbing its stored victory energy.
  • Chen Shi tried sweet-talking and then guilt-tripping Victini into helping him challenge the Five Kings of Hisui, but Victini saw through his act.
  • Victini agreed to fight alongside Chen Shi as long as he did not trick them, and Dragapult voiced its support.
  • Chen Shi explained that Victini's breakthrough could help them defeat three more kings and obtain Plate projections to strengthen their companions.
  • Victini considered the costs and benefits, then agreed that breaking through to Legendary was worthwhile.

Ch. 395A Lead on Uxie

Chen Shi left Big Goo and the Goodra after urging their leader to consider joining him, then encountered a Zoroark clan gathered around a dying Zorua. After discovering that Uxie's Psychic power was harming her, Chen Shi offered to save her in exchange for the clan agreeing to do something for him.

  • Chen Shi said goodbye to Big Goo and urged him to consider taking a chance and joining him.
  • Chen Shi and Dragapult flew away, and Chen Shi explained that he wanted the Goodra to choose freely rather than follow him blindly.
  • Dragapult spotted a group of Zoroark below and brought Chen Shi down to investigate.
  • Chen Shi identified the dying Hisuian Zorua as being harmed by Psychic power released by Uxie.
  • Chen Shi told the Zoroark leader he could save Zorua if the clan agreed to do one thing for him.

Ch. 396The Plate Really Came in Handy

Chen Shi used Dragapult’s Spooky Plate to cure Zorua after promising Zoroark he could save her. Zorua woke up, but the Plate remained inside her, and Chen Shi demanded that she return it.

  • Zoroark agreed to do Chen Shi a favor within her power if he cured Zorua, then led him to a secluded cave.
  • Chen Shi kept Zoroark outside and had Dragapult give him the Spooky Plate.
  • The Plate merged into Zorua, expelled Uxie's Psychic power, and healed her damaged meridians.
  • Chen Shi had Florges slap Zorua awake so she could return the Plate, which had become difficult to retrieve.
  • Zorua woke in Chen Shi's arms, and he frightened her by accusing her of taking his things and demanding the Plate back.

Ch. 397Berilla

Chen Shi enlisted Zoroark’s clan to help him find the Five Kings of Hisui and learned that Lilligant lived near Jubilife Village. He led Victini and three Champion Level Zoroark in an assault on Lilligant, leaving Berilla and the village residents to witness the battle and fear an attack.

  • Chen Shi asked Zoroark to mobilize her clan to locate Arcanine, Electrode, and Lilligant in exchange for helping her take revenge on the Five Kings of Hisui.
  • Zoroark revealed that Lilligant lived beside a human village and sometimes protected its residents in return for food.
  • Chen Shi decided to fight Lilligant for her Plate Projection and promised to find the village another protector afterward.
  • At the foot of Back Mountain, Chen Shi prepared Victini and three Champion Level Zoroark with battle boosts before ordering them to attack Lilligant.
  • Berilla saw a miniature sun rise over Back Mountain, heard explosions, and witnessed the devastated mountain as the village cried that it was under attack.

Ch. 398Another Plate in Hand

Chen Shi and the Zoroark defeated Lilligant, but Cogita intervened before Zoroark could kill her and left behind the Flame Plate. Chen Shi added it to his collection and planned to find the remaining Five Kings to obtain more Plates.

  • Victini celebrated its first victory after Chen Shi and the Zoroark defeated Lilligant with their prepared buffs.
  • Zoroark tried to kill Lilligant, but Berilla arrived with her people and pleaded for Lilligant's life in exchange for compensation.
  • Chen Shi revealed that Lilligant was one of the Five Kings of Hisui, and Berilla withdrew rather than risk making enemies of the Pokémon.
  • When Zoroark moved to finish Lilligant, Cogita immobilized everyone except Chen Shi, Victini, and Dragapult, then took Lilligant and left the Flame Plate.
  • Chen Shi picked up the Flame Plate and planned to find the other two members of the Five Kings to trade for the Splash Plate and Mysterious Plate.

Ch. 399Invitation and refusal

Chen Shi gave Charizard the Flame Plate and arranged for Zoroark’s clan to protect the humans near Jubilife Village. Although Berilla invited him to the village, Cogita forbade him from interacting with Hisui’s humans, so Chen Shi departed to search for clues about the Golden Mushroom.

  • Charizard rushed out of his Poké Ball, took the Flame Plate, and returned to his ball after Chen Shi told him to study it.
  • Chen Shi explained to Zoroark that the backer behind the Five Kings had rescued Lilligant, then comforted her about losing the chance to kill her.
  • Chen Shi asked Zoroark’s clan to help protect Berilla’s people and report news about the other two kings, and Zoroark agreed.
  • Berilla thanked Chen Shi and invited him to visit Jubilife Village, but Cogita warned him not to interact with Hisui’s humans.
  • Chen Shi declined Berilla’s invitation and left with Dragapult, planning to return to Zoroark’s territory to seek clues about the Golden Mushroom.

Ch. 400That's a Fine Head

Chen Shi questioned Zorua about the lake where she was injured and learned that a surge of Psychic power had knocked her unconscious. He found Uxie there and confronted it about nearly harming Zorua, leaving Uxie worried about her condition.

  • Chen Shi coaxed Zorua with a Pokéblock, and she revealed that a lake’s sudden force had knocked her out two days earlier.
  • Chen Shi asked Zoroark about the lake guardians and took her and Zorua to the lake where Zorua had been hurt.
  • Chen Shi sent Zoroark and Zorua away, then Victini sensed powerful residual Psychic power around the lake.
  • Two stones struck Chen Shi on the head, and Uxie appeared beside Victini.
  • Chen Shi accused Uxie of losing control of its Psychic power and nearly killing Zorua, and Uxie asked whether she was all right.
