Chen Shi, Mew, Jirachi, and Little V worked together to break the barrier imprisoning V in Eindoak Town. As V reflected on the meaning of beauty, Chen Shi reminded it that their friendship and journey to the sea were beautiful too, and the group finally freed it.

• Chen Shi led Mew and V to a Guardian Pillar at the edge of Eindoak Town’s barrier.
• Mew tried to carry V through the barrier, but a powerful blue shield blocked them.

Chen Shi returned to Sinnoh with V and told Steven and Diantha he would help if trouble involving Legendary Pokémon arose in Kalos. Later, he revealed to Cynthia that Arceus had helped strengthen his Pokémon, leaving her envious.

• V stopped watching the sea and left the reef with Chen Shi, Mew, and Jirachi, who teleported them to Sinnoh.
• Chen Shi learned that Grandpa Chen, Grandma Chen, and Professor Oak had gone home, with Professor Oak taking Pokémon from Hisui.

• Charles Goodshow ordered an S-class alert and mobilized regional Leagues, Champions, Elite Kings, and rescue resources for Dahara City.
• Bruno volunteered to go to Dahara City, while Agatha had Gengar drag the Suzuki family head into a shadow after he objected to contributing supplies.

Chen Shi and his allies were overwhelmed when five Legendary Pokémon attacked Giratina and Zygarde, until Rayquaza arrived and knocked back Dialga, Groudon, and Kyogre. Rayquaza ignored Chen Shi and demanded to know where Mew had gone.
