"Oh! You're here!" When Long Weixi opened her bedroom door and headed into the living room, she saw Cheng Tian sitting in the middle of it, playing video games with Wen Xu.
"Hi, Coach Long!" Cheng Tian set down his controller and greeted her with a smile.
Long Weixi nodded in satisfaction. "There are drinks in the fridge. Help yourself to whatever you want. Finally, someone's here to play games with her, and I can have some peace."
Wen Xu and Cheng Tian were playing Mario Kart 8. Wen Xu was still using her classic red-and-blue model, while the one in Cheng Tian's hands was the newly released Tears of the Kingdom limited edition. Of course, he certainly couldn't afford to buy one; Wen Xu had lent it to him.
The Pokémon League hotel's TV really was high-end. With both HDMI cables plugged in, it automatically split the screen, letting the players happily get on with their games.

"By the way, Cheng Tian, how's Noibat's training been going lately?" Long Weixi took a carton of milk from the fridge and leaned against the wall to drink it, asking as she watched Cheng Tian concentrate on his game.
"Well... Noibat's already very proficient with the Dragon Claw Noivern taught last time, and its ability to withstand electrical voltage has gotten very strong too," Cheng Tian said.
"Mm." Long Weixi nodded in satisfaction. "If there's a chance tomorrow, I'll have Noivern teach it another move. Let me think... how about X-Scissor?"
