As one Pokémon after another lost the ability to battle, challenger after challenger lost their eligibility to continue. Looking at the upperclassmen opposite them, who were only one year ahead, the freshmen could not help voicing their amazement.

"Shoo, shoo, this has nothing to do with you," Bai Momo said. "Keep going in ranking order."
"Um... I think we've already gone through everyone once..."
"Then start over."
And so Cheng Tian's opponent became the upperclasswoman who had used Venusaur in the first match.
"Huh? Is it my turn again already?" the upperclasswoman said with a smile. "You're pretty good-looking, junior. I hope you can last a few more rounds."
"Both contestants, please send out your Pokémon!"
Red light flashed, and Venusaur and Amoonguss appeared again. Cheng Tian sent out Greninja and Noibat.
"Hmm?" He Bi raised his eyebrows with interest. "He seems pretty confident. Is he trying to battle against a type disadvantage?"
"What's A-Tian doing? Trying to fight against a type disadvantage?"
