In the long run, the outcome was far from clear. Mega Gengar was immune to Fighting-type moves, leaving Mega Lucario unable to perform as well as it should, while Mega Gengar was so terribly frail that Mega Lucario's attacks would only need a few hits to knock it out.
"Stone Edge!"
Mega Lucario punched the ground, unleashing Stone Edge, while swiftly weaving through the forest of stone for cover.
"Kite it!" Mega Gengar's own speed had already reached a certain pinnacle among Pokémon, and its body, connected to another dimension, could slip through space at will. Mega Lucario had a hard time getting close to it.
"Sorry, my stamina won't let me drag this out any longer." As Cheng Tian spoke, he raised his other wrist.
"I'll use this move to finish you off completely."
A domain of endless darkness unfolded, instantly swallowing Mega Lucario. Bai Yun raised his eyebrows. "Hey, hey, Mega Evolution plus a Z-Move? Do you have a death wish? You think you're the protagonist?"
"Maybe I really am."
"Tch." Bai Yun lit up his other wrist as well, and a brilliant light pierced through the endless Darkness Domain.
"It's just Mega Evolution plus a Z-Move. I can do that too!"
Cheng Tian smiled helplessly. The two childhood friends who had grown up together knew each other far too well. Much of the time, Cheng Tian's every move could be predicted too.
In this situation, it all came down to whose Z-Move was superior.
"Never-Ending Nightmare!"
"Corkscrew Crash!"
These two kept bursting with power before everyone's eyes as though they were cheating, making the spectators begin to wonder why, when they were all human, these two could be so damn awesome.
And in the clash between the Z-Moves, the superior one was-
"Thud..."
Gengar's portrait went dark.
