This book had a lot of problems.
Honestly, since this was my first time writing a book, I'd already been writing for ages before I even learned what the "golden first three chapters" were...
There was indeed a lot of inexperience on display early on, and readers pointed out plenty of off-putting aspects. But by then, I couldn't make any major changes, so I could only make a few small adjustments.
Of course, as a first-time writer, I wasn't very good at pacing, and my prose was a little immature too. Fortunately, I started getting a feel for it later on, and things improved somewhat by Volume Three.
In short, this book was a passion project. At first, I'd read plenty of stories, but none had the kind of setup I particularly liked. I wanted to fulfill some of my own hopes, and since the pandemic happened to hit around then, I decided to give writing a try myself.
As I kept writing, I went past the original plan of 1.5 million Chinese characters...
By now, this book has actually reached 2.79 million characters...
Way beyond schedule...
Of course, that happened partly because I got carried away
