I received notice from my editor that this book would be going premium today.
First, I wanted to thank my editor. From the launch of this book until now, they had given it many recommendations, as well as plenty of fair opinions and suggestions.
Most importantly, I wanted to thank all you reader friends. Your comments, chapter requests, recommendation votes, and tips were what motivated me to keep writing.
Of course, once the book went premium, many friends were destined to leave.
Some might even curse: "What kind of garbage is this? You've got the nerve to charge for it? Are you so desperate for money that you've lost your mind?"
Some might even resort to personal attacks and insult my family.
I was just a small-time writer, powerless to change anything, and I had no way to ask everyone to pay to read.
Reading pirated copies was your personal choice. I had no intention of judging it, but I hoped you would at least watch your words.
Still, I wanted to say this: it had been wonderful having you all along the way! Let's part on good terms. When gentlemen cut ties, they do not speak ill of one another!
Whenever I was tired, I liked listening to Guo Degang's crosstalk. There was something he once said that I liked: "Without gentlemen, performers cannot survive."
