The moment Miwa Chisei went upstairs, she saw Yu Haibara looking miserable, while Kento Nanami beside him seemed deep in thought.
"What's wrong?"
"The upperclassmen started fighting. I don't know if they're fighting for real."
Kento Nanami thought for a moment before speaking calmly.
"Probably not. If they were, the building would've collapsed."
"But I feel like putting those two together is dangerous."
Miwa Chisei sighed. They could be a little bolder and drop the "I feel like."
She didn't want her corpse lying in the rubble tomorrow. That would be embarrassing.
"I guess we'll have to use jujutsu. I'll stop them from moving, and you two help them back to bed?"
"Wouldn't that be rude to our upperclassmen?"
"Haibara, have you ever seen Miwa be polite to them?"
"Um... I guess you're right..."
Miwa Chisei reached out and patted their shoulders reassuringly, then stepped into the room, whose door hadn't been shut.
They were all staying in suites, with a small sitting room outside and the bedroom farther in.
Someone seemed to be talking inside the bedroom, behind its half-closed door.
Had they sobered up already? Were they not fighting?
Miwa Chisei considered leaving, but then she heard someone's drunken voice.
"She actually bought me a present. She really did!"
"Enough already. Stop shoving your wrist in my face."
"Shit, you have no idea how stingy that brat is. Even I'm feeling a little bad."
"You're capable of feeling bad?"
The room fell silent for a while. Outside, Miwa Chisei didn't move either.
Then the boy's voice drifted out again, sounding somewhat conflicted.
"Now I can't go through with my plan to mess with her."
A plan to mess with her?
Those words made the girl outside tilt her head in confusion, before the person inside supplied an explanation.
