"Uni..." Tsunayoshi Sawada clenched his fists and lowered his head, hiding his expression.
"What exactly was Miss Uni thinking?" Chrome was deeply conflicted. She really liked the gentle, kindhearted Uni. "She wasn't involved in the Pure Humans' plan, was she?"
"Chrome." Mukuro Rokudo rested a hand on her shoulder and shook his head at her. "Whether she was involved or not doesn't matter anymore."
"We're Homo sapiens. She's a Pure Human. That's all there is to it."
There was no right or wrong, no good or evil. There were only sides, only survival.
Having lived through countless horrors, Mukuro Rokudo knew perfectly well that Homo sapiens and Pure Humans could never coexist peacefully. That was human nature. Even members of the same race hurt and slaughtered one another, let alone members of different races.
The belief that those outside one's own race could never share one's loyalties had not come from nowhere.
"I hate the mafia. I hate humans," Mukuro Rokudo sneered. Just as he said, aside from a handful of people, he had no affection for anyone at all. "I don't like this world, either."
He did not like this world where people oppressed, distrusted, and slaughtered one another.
"But at least I've gotten used to it... I'm not going to sit around waiting to die."
So the only good Pure Human was a dead Pure Human.
"Little Uni... heh." Byakuran pinched the marshmallow in his hand. "How strange. Why didn't you die at the very beginning?"
Both the people of the Vongola and the leading figures of the Millefiore knew perfectly well that Uni could not have been entirely ignorant. That meant she inevitably bore some responsibility for the extinction of Homo sapiens... Could she bear it? The guilt of seven billion Homo sapiens?
Getting to see Uni
