Chapter Summaries

Jiraiya and Lin Guang confronted Pain with help from the Toad Sages, Fukasaku and Shima. Lin Guang deduced that Pain had six bodies, and the chapter ended with the full Six Paths appearing as Deva Path Pain declared them gods.

Lin Guang brought Inori Yuzuriha and Tamayo to the secret Uchiha Clan hideout to witness Sasuke Uchiha's decisive battle with Uchiha Itachi. Sasuke stabbed Itachi, questioned him about Lin Guang and the surviving Uchiha, and learned the name Madara Uchiha.

• Lin Guang took Inori Yuzuriha and Tamayo to the forest near the Uchiha Clan hideout as Sasuke Uchiha approached.

Sasuke Uchiha survived Itachi's Amaterasu with the Orochimaru-Style Substitution Technique, then exhausted himself attacking his brother with Fire Release. As storm clouds gathered, Sasuke summoned natural lightning into Kirin, leaving the attack poised to strike Uchiha Itachi.

• Sasuke Uchiha's apparent death proved to be a decoy made with the Orochimaru-Style Substitution Technique, and he transformed using the Cursed Seal.
• Sasuke Uchiha attacked Uchiha Itachi with repeated Fire Release techniques, burning his right hand and collapsing the Hideout's roof.
