Afterward, Chiba Yo told Amane about his encounter with Kaigaku.

"I've already slain Kaigaku. I don't think a heartless scoundrel like him should implicate Mr. Kuwajima, who risked his life to protect humanity.

He devoted most of his life to the Demon Slayer Corps, to eliminating demons, and to protecting humanity. Even after retiring, he continued to painstakingly train a new generation of swordsmen for the Corps.

Someone as worthy of respect as him shouldn't suffer because of someone like Kaigaku."

Chiba Yo shared his thoughts with Amane.

After listening to him, Amane replied, "We will have to wait until my husband wakes up before deciding how to handle this. I will relay your words to him. Until then, I won't let this news spread."

Chiba Yo breathed a sigh of relief. Amane's answer made it clear that Oyakata-sama and the others had not yet received word that Kaigaku had become a demon. In that case, as long as Oyakata-sama agreed, there should be no problem, and Mr. Kuwajima would likely escape any repercussions. Still, the final decision rested with Oyakata-sama.

"Thank you, Lady Amane." Chiba Yo thanked her, then took his leave.

Although this matter had been settled for now, Oyakata-sama's illness still weighed heavily on Chiba Yo. There was nothing he could do about it, however. He could only do his part to the best of his ability and eliminate Muzan as soon as possible, so Oyakata-sama could witness that day with his own eyes.

After leaving the Ubuyashiki Estate, Chiba Yo untied the Kasugai Crow at his waist.

"Caw, caw!"

As soon as the cord around its beak was removed, the Kasugai Crow let out two cries. Then it flapped its wings a couple of times, swayed, and toppled into Chiba Yo's hand. Its head was spinning.
