"Beep, beep, beep-"
Sure enough, three beeps sounded at the door.
Then, with a soft click, the door opened...

They had barely made it through the door when a ground-shaking rumble erupted behind them.

Clods of earth flew high into the air, then rained down.
The explosions continued for nearly ten minutes before gradually dying away.
Gu Zheng and Song Ning were almost half buried in the dirt.
Only after everything around them had fallen completely silent-
did Gu Zheng struggle to his feet and push away the dirt piled on him.

They could see daylight in the distance, but they still had a long climb up the slope before they could get out.

She wasn't hurt, but their narrow escape had left her feeling somewhat weak.
