"All right."

Bang naturally did not press him. "By the way, what's your hero name?"

"I don't have a hero name yet. The higher-ups haven't decided, but right now it looks like it might be [Kamui]."

Bai Ye replied, "You can just call me Bai Ye."

He was not about to embarrass himself by mentioning an absurd name like [Red Eye Man].

"Oh, then I'll call you Bai Ye for now."

Bang said, "My name is Bang. No need to call me [Silver Fang]."

"Understood, Mr. Bang."

Bai Ye nodded.

After that, Bai Ye and Bang chatted over tea for a while, until it was about time to leave.

"Mr. Bang, I still need to keep testing my abilities, so I'll be going now."

Bai Ye spoke frankly.

"All right. Take care."

Bang gave a slight nod.

The next moment, Bai Ye openly demonstrated Dual Kamui's teleportation ability right in front of Bang.

One second, Bai Ye was still sitting in his chair. In the blink of an eye, he vanished without a trace.

To Bang, Bai Ye disappeared in a single blink. He caught only one faint detail: a slight ripple of distorted space as Bai Ye left, and even that vanished in an instant.

Even Bang, the third-ranked S-Class Hero, could barely detect it. An ordinary person would never have noticed.

"That ability really is impressive. If he can improve his physical capabilities as well, becoming an S-Class Hero should only be a matter of time."

Bang marveled.

Meanwhile, to improve his stamina, Bai Ye added points to his constitution stat.

[Ding! The host redeemed "Constitution ×20." "Points ×20" deducted. Current points remaining: 0!] [Constitution +20] [Constitution: 75]

Bai Ye's constitution reached 75, and he continued unlocking more cities.

[Ding! The host has arrived in E City for the first time. Reward received: 2 points!] [Ding! The host has arrived in X City for the first time. Reward received: 2 points!] [...]

Bai Ye spent the entire afternoon at it, unlocking several more cities he had never visited.

As he unlocked more cities, the odds of reaching an unvisited city through blind teleportation grew lower and lower.

Fewer than ten cities remain locked. I'll just let things take their course from here. There's no need to keep teleporting blindly to play the odds...

Bai Ye thought to himself.

After that, Bai Ye kept checking his phone for notices from the Hero Association.

Whenever a monster appeared in a city he had visited, he could rush there immediately.

[A monster has been spotted on the outskirts of Y City. Preliminary classification: Tiger-Level Disaster. Heroes nearby, please proceed to eliminate it as soon as possible!!]

After spending half the day patrolling the streets of Z City, Bai Ye finally received an alert on his phone.

The Hero Association's notices were still somewhat infrequent. Many monsters were defeated by nearby heroes as soon as they appeared. Notices were only issued for monsters that had yet to be defeated and had been reported to the Hero Association by civilians.

Bai Ye had visited Y City before, so he immediately traveled there through the Kamui Dimension.

Just then, the Hero Association sent the monster's exact location.

Bai Ye raced toward the location, repeatedly opening spatial portals within his field of vision to teleport as far as he could see.

He reached the scene in just a few jumps.

Other heroes who had already been nearby had arrived as well. Judging by their bearing and presence, they were probably all C-Class and B-Class Heroes.

A Tiger-Level Monster typically required five B-Class Heroes or one A-Class Hero to handle, and the three heroes present were struggling.

They were the B-Class Hero [Pointed-Head Man], the C-Class Hero [Bashful Student], and the C-Class Hero [Wash-Cut-Blow].

[Pointed-Head Man] had a pointed head and a short, stout build, though he looked fairly muscular. Strength was probably his specialty, and he fought with a large hammer.

[Bashful Student] wore a school uniform, had a bowl cut and thick glasses, and his face was covered in acne. His weapon was actually a drawing compass, though it certainly was not an ordinary one.

[Wash-Cut-Blow] had a wild hairstyle, as though he had not washed his hair for at least a month. He wielded electric clippers in one hand and scissors in the other.

And the monster facing them was a rose...

More precisely, it was a canine whose head had turned into a giant rose. The rest of its body was entirely black.

Its head was not bright and beautiful like a normal rose, either. Instead, it had terrifying mouthparts like a man-eating plant, capable of swallowing an average-sized human whole.

"Let's attack together!"

[Pointed-Head Man] hefted his hammer and swung at the Tiger-Level Monster [Rose Dog] again.

Clang! But he only knocked out one of [Rose Dog]'s teeth. With so many teeth left, [Rose Dog] was barely affected.

At the same time, [Bashful Student] and [Wash-Cut-Blow] charged straight in. They had assumed Pointed-Head Man would at least briefly stun the monster, but [Rose Dog] simply opened its mouth and gulped them both down.

Since it had swallowed two people at once, however, Bashful Student and Wash-Cut-Blow became lodged in Rose Dog's throat.

Their legs still stuck out, flailing desperately as they tried to escape. Rose Dog stubbornly insisted on swallowing them, leaving them unable to get out or go down.

"Don't worry! I'll save you!"

While Rose Dog was stuck there, Pointed-Head Man swung his hammer hard, smashing it into Rose Dog's head.

The problem was that Bashful Student and Wash-Cut-Blow were still stuck in Rose Dog's mouth.

Rose Dog had not been knocked unconscious, but the impact had already knocked those two out.

Their legs immediately stopped struggling nearly as much, greatly reducing the resistance Rose Dog faced. Now it really might be able to force them down.

"How did this happen..."

Pointed-Head Man scratched his head in bewilderment. He seemed to have made things worse.

Just as Bashful Student and Wash-Cut-Blow were about to be forcibly swallowed, Bai Ye arrived.

This monster was the perfect opportunity for Bai Ye to try out the Flying Thunder God Technique.

He immediately grabbed one leg from each of them and activated the Flying Thunder God Technique without any hand seals, teleporting both men with him to a nearby spot he had just marked.

He also left a mark on [Rose Dog]'s head. His Flying Thunder God mark was neither the Second's nor the Fourth's, however, but his own unique Mangekyo pattern.

A black Mangekyo Kamui pattern instantly appeared on Rose Dog's head...
