Pointless Emotions

Terror filled Chunlan's eyes. Blood at the corners of her mouth stained her lips, her face was pale, and her hair was disheveled.

"Big sister..."

Sesshomaru's Poison Flower Claw had struck her hard in the back. Potent poison and demon power rotted her body at a terrifying speed, about to spread to her heart and lungs.

At that moment, Chunlan felt the terror of death. She could even feel her life force rapidly weakening.

"Damn you!"

"Die!"

Xialan and Qiulan attacked Sesshomaru like mad, unleashing flames and lightning in a barrage of scorching, violent energy.

Sesshomaru darted through the fireballs and lightning bolts, displaying the full extent of his speed before the Four Heavenly Kings of the Leopard Cats.

His movements were silent and ghostlike, almost like teleportation, impossible to guard against!

After battle upon battle, Sesshomaru's growth had far outstripped that of the Four Heavenly Kings of the Leopard Cats. The four of them were no longer enough to hold him back.

Donglan hurried to suppress the effects of the Poison Flower Claw on Chunlan. That single blow had left Chunlan almost completely unable to fight.

"Big sister... am I... going to die?"

Chunlan lay weakly in Donglan's arms. Death was terrifying. She was still young, with so many wonderful years ahead of her. How could she accept dying here?

"Don't worry. You won't. Trust me!"

Donglan spoke gently, using her ice power to suppress Chunlan's injuries. She slapped both hands against the ground, raising an Ice Barrier to protect her.

"I'll avenge you right now!"

Donglan slowly laid Chunlan down, her gaze cold beyond measure, then walked out of the Ice Barrier under Chunlan's trusting gaze.

Sesshomaru seemed to be toying with Xialan and Qiulan. Though their attacks were fierce and swift, they ultimately failed to hurt him in the slightest.

His expression was utterly indifferent, a trace of mockery in his eyes. Xialan and Qiulan's furious attacks were rapidly draining both their stamina and demon power.

"Your movements and attacks have slowed!"

Sesshomaru's calm words reached Xialan and Qiulan's ears, throwing even their breathing out of rhythm.

The next instant, Sesshomaru abruptly vanished before their eyes.

"He's gotten even faster!?"

Xialan and Qiulan startled, their hearts trembling. They tried to stand back-to-back, only to feel an immensely powerful blow strike their stomachs in that very instant.

Bam! Bam!

Xialan and Qiulan were sent flying, but Sesshomaru's attack was not over. He appeared above them again, leaving them almost no chance to evade in their current state.

This is bad!

Damn it!

Xialan and Qiulan cursed inwardly at the same time, but the force against their stomachs still lingered, making it impossible to control their bodies as they flew backward.

Sesshomaru looked at them indifferently, as though they were already dead. Without the slightest change in expression, he extended two fingers, gathering two streams of dark green demon power and firing them.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Just as the sound of them cutting through the air rang out, an ice-blue figure swept out a wave of freezing air in a flash. An incredibly sturdy Ice Shield blocked both streams of demon power!

"Big sister!"

Delight filled Xialan and Qiulan's hearts, and they cried out in unison.

Sesshomaru's assault continued. His demon power moved as naturally as his own limbs, forming a sharp blade that sliced through the Ice Shield.

Clang!

The dark green blade of demon power collided with the ice-blue Ice Blade, sending a violent shock wave sweeping outward in every direction.

"Sesshomaru, you hurt my family. You will die!"

Donglan's voice was icy, filled with boundless killing intent. Her blue hair streamed upward as she vented her fury like a goddess of ice and war!

She was the leader of the Four Heavenly Kings of the Leopard Cats, the eldest sister among the four. In her heart, Chunlan, Xialan, and Qiulan mattered more than her own life!

She would let no one hurt them!

"Pointless emotions!"

Sesshomaru remained cold. Looking at Donglan, so filled with rage and killing intent, he could not understand what purpose such emotional bonds served.

On the battlefield, one should kill without hesitation. Any emotion would become a fatal weakness!

His path of domination needed no emotion. He alone was enough!

As he spoke, Sesshomaru's demon power erupted again, surging like a mountain flood and a tsunami. A single slash drove Donglan back.

"You really are a cold-blooded creature without any feelings!"

Donglan stared hard at Sesshomaru. She truly had never seen the slightest flicker of emotion in his eyes, as though he were a cold-blooded animal with no room for any warmth.

"Emotions? Hah! Emotions are the most useless things in this world!"

Sesshomaru closed in on Donglan again, unleashing a fierce, powerful slash as he looked down on her and sneered.

"Big sister, there's no need to waste words on him. Let's kill him together!"

Lightning rippled over Qiulan's body. He unleashed his lightning power to its limit, his speed suddenly soaring as he punched at Sesshomaru.

The punch erupted like a laser beam, blazing with white light as it shot toward Sesshomaru.

Yet even against such a terrifying attack, Sesshomaru did not retreat in the slightest. Intense poison and demon power surged around his left hand as he reached out to seize that fist!

Boom!

Lightning exploded, tearing a shattered trench through the ground. Searing white waves of energy surged wildly behind Sesshomaru!

"How is that possible!?"

Qiulan's eyes widened. Sesshomaru had caught his full-powered punch without budging.

That hand, covered in demonic markings and glowing emerald green, stood as firm and unshakable as a mountain.

His strength...!

Donglan's pupils abruptly contracted. Sesshomaru was even stronger than he had been in their last battle!

"Firebird!"

Xialan attacked again as well, her demon power surging. This was the last of her demon power, and with this timing, it would be almost impossible for Sesshomaru to evade!

Scorching flames formed a majestic Firebird that let out a piercing cry. Even the accumulated snow melted in an instant as it hurtled straight toward Sesshomaru's back.

Sesshomaru's expression shifted slightly. Moving even faster, he raised his foot and kicked Donglan away, then seized Qiulan's right arm with his left hand. His grip was as unshakable as an iron clamp, and he hurled Qiulan behind him!

He completed the movements in an instant. Donglan and Qiulan were sent flying before they even had a chance to react.

"No!"

Xialan cried out and hurried to redirect the Firebird's power, but controlling energy she had already released required extraordinary precision.

She strained every ounce of strength and concentration, finally making the Firebird skim past Qiulan's shoulder.

But the next instant, Qiulan crashed into Xialan. The heavy, brutal impact knocked her unconscious on the spot.

Qiulan had also been grazed by the Firebird's power, leaving his left arm almost useless.

"Such laughable emotions. What will you do now?"

Sesshomaru stood with his hands behind his back. Three of the Four Heavenly Kings had almost completely lost their ability to fight, and he looked coldly at Donglan as he spoke.

Donglan glanced at her younger siblings. All of them were badly injured, and an immense weight bore down on her.

She could not die. Otherwise, her younger siblings would never escape Sesshomaru's claws!

I will bring you all home!

She spoke those words in her heart, then abruptly raised her eyes. Her ice-blue gaze turned scarlet, and demonic energy and freezing air erupted wildly from her body!

"Roar!"

A piercing, savage roar burst from Donglan's mouth, the cry of a wild beast, as a dense mass of demonic energy shot into the sky!

Donglan transformed into a demon cat ten meters tall, covered in ice-blue fur and radiating a biting chill!

This was her final trump card: fighting in her true form!
