Yi Chen lifted his foot, and with a smack, a vicious slap landed across the old fellow's lips, leaving five distinct finger marks on his dry, gaunt cheek. The old fellow let out a wretched howl, a thread of blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, yet he still stared stubbornly at Yi Chen, searching for grounds to argue back.
Yi Chen said coldly, "I killed you simply because I hate being threatened. If someone threatens my interests, then I'll just make her disappear completely. Do you understand?"
The old fellow shut his mouth and nodded silently. Yi Chen continued, "Your hall master is nothing more than a puppet under my command. Whatever I tell him to do, he must do. Does any of you object?"
The senior elders of the Demon Dragon Hall all wore dark expressions. They had intended to gather their forces and launch a joint attack as soon as Yi Chen left.
But the strength of this young man who had suddenly appeared exceeded their estimates. His mysterious, unfathomable spells in particular filled them with dread.
