Blood splattered. The middle-aged man stared at Yi Chen with wide eyes, his face full of disbelief, before his body slowly toppled to the ground.
Without the slightest hesitation, Yi Chen darted forward again, charging toward another middle-aged man.
The middle-aged man watched helplessly as Yi Chen's Overlord Spear pierced his throat. Then he fell to the ground, his eyes wide with defiance.
Yi Chen withdrew his spear and glanced at his palm. A drop of blood trickled between his fingers, fell to the ground, and swiftly vanished without a trace.
"Finally dealt with them."
Yi Chen wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, then sprang away, vanishing from where he stood as he rushed back the way he had come.
Before long, Yi Chen arrived in front of the Dense Forest.
Yi Chen stood before the trees, looking around.
Apart from some trees, there was nothing in the Dense Forest.
This should be where that middle-aged man was hiding, Yi Chen thought.
His gaze fell on a large tree nearby. He reached out, snapped off a branch, and tossed it into his mouth to chew.
Crunch!
A crisp chewing sound rang out, and the branch was devoured completely.

He was in no hurry to pull off the branches, because he was not certain whether this tree marked the place where the middle-aged man had buried something.
After all, this tree was far too old. Perhaps this really was his hiding place.
A moment later, Yi Chen ate all the remaining branches as well, then peeled away the bark, searching for traces of the middle-aged man's aura.
"This is a passage."
After peeling away the bark, Yi Chen discovered a straight passage inside the trunk that
