"She's still sleeping."
As Yun Xiaoran reported to Sister Hua, he kept his eyes on Shen Jin.
Shen Jin glared fiercely at him, but it did her no good.
Seeing that adorable expression only made Yun Xiaoran find the woman before him even cuter.
If we're going to play, why not raise the stakes?
Looking at Shen Jin's current expression, Yun Xiaoran suddenly rubbed her pretty face harder.
Caught off guard, Shen Jin let out a soft "Mm."
"What was that sound?"
The phone's microphone really was excellent. It had picked up that faint sound from over a meter away.
Shen Jin shot Yun Xiaoran a reproachful glare, while he promptly explained to Sister Hua:
"I just stubbed my toe on the corner of the table."
Sister Hua fell silent for a long moment on the other end.
"Oh, that was a pretty quiet reaction, then. You should be louder next time."
Yun Xiaoran silently brought the phone closer to Shen Jin.
Now Shen Jin was finally scared. Yun Xiaoran had just said she was asleep.
If Sister Hua found out they were sleeping in the same bed, there would be no explaining it away, no matter what she said.
Fear gradually filled Shen Jin's lovely peach blossom eyes. She pressed her teeth lightly against her lip and slowly shook her head, not even daring to breathe loudly. Yun Xiaoran held her delicate, oval face firmly in place.
Right in front of her, within easy reach, was the phone with the call still connected.
And Yun Xiaoran was still stroking her fair, pretty face.
But with the phone so close, and Sister Hua still on the line,
she stubbornly refused to make a sound.
